One of the important platforms for establishing new partnerships and presenting professional expertise is the URBIS – The Smart Cities MeetUp trade fair, which took place on 2–4 June in Brno.
The Faculty of Transportation Sciences accepted the invitation of its long-standing partner, SmartPlan, and presented its experience and projects focused on smart solutions for cities and regions at a joint stand. The Faculty of Transportation Sciences sees the upcoming changes in the financing of European funds after 2028 as an opportunity to further develop cooperation with cities, regions, and other partners from practice. Horizon Europe projects focused on innovation, sustainability, and quality of life will continue to play an important role in this regard.
At the URBIS – The Smart Cities MeetUp trade fair in Brno, the Faculty presented its experience in the field of smart cities and sustainable mobility, including through the international CapaCities 2.0 project. Faculty representatives also held discussions with representatives of ministries, cities, and municipalities on possibilities for future cooperation.
“We have long been offering expert consultancy and innovative solutions in the field of transport and spatial development. This is where I see the Faculty’s main role also in the upcoming funding period, which will place particular emphasis on decarbonisation and digitalisation,” said the Dean of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences, Associate Professor Stanislav Novotný, who also visited our stand at the trade fair.
In addition to educating students, the Faculty also focuses on training public administration representatives and supporting modern approaches to the development of cities and regions.
