In the period from 26.2.2024 to 29.2.2024, enrolment for the next academic year of doctoral studies will take place for students who started their studies on March 1,2023.

The enrolment will be conducted electronically without the need for personal attendance, based on the evaluation of the studies for the past academic year and the fulfilment of other set conditions for progression to the next year.

A prerequisite for enrollment is the submission of semester evaluations of studies through the application hs.fd.cvut.cz for the period of March–September 2023 and October 2023–February 2024, approved by the supervisor, head of the department, and chairman of the subject area board, based on which the enrolment will be carried out.

The evaluation of studies for the period of October 2023 – February 2024 must be submitted in hs.fd.cvut.cz no later than February 15, 2024. Subsequently, it will be approved by the supervisors, head of department, and the chairman of the subject area board by the enrolment deadline.

Based on the submitted study evaluation with the statement of the chairman of the subject area board and the verification of the fulfilment of obligations, doctoral students will then receive a confirming email from the Department of Science and Research about their enrolment in the next academic year or information about further procedures regarding enrolment (in case anything needs to be supplemented).

Enrolment in the 2nd year, in both full-time and combined forms of study, is further conditioned by obtaining at least 5 points (the sum of all criteria according to the Quantified Criteria form) and passing an exam in at least one specialized subject.

Doctoral students must meet certain deadlines for completing their study block obligations. These deadlines vary based on the form of study and are as follows:

  • Full-time Study:
    • Typically, students should complete their obligations within 4 semesters from the start of their studies.
    • The maximum allowed duration is 6 semesters from the start of their studies.
  • Combined Form of Study:
    • Typically, students should complete their obligations within 6 semesters from the start of their studies.
    • The maximum allowed duration is 9 semesters from the start of their studies.

These durations are in accordance with the terms set in the Individual Study Plan (ISP).

By the enrolment date, doctoral students are required to:

  • Provide proof of completion of all subjects listed in their ISP.
  • Successfully pass a professional debate.

Doctoral students who are finishing the 6th semester of full-time study and have not yet applied for the state doctoral examination should do so no later than the enrolment date.

Please verify the proper recording of exam results in KOS.

The fulfilment of all study obligations should correspond to the dates in the individual study plan.

Enrolment is mandatory for all doctoral students who started their studies in February or March and is a condition for further continuation of studies.

If it is not possible to complete the enrolment within the set deadline due to a serious reason, it is necessary to apologize in writing no later than 5 days from the set deadline and deliver the apology to the Department of Science and Research along with a request for postponement of enrolment.
