The condition for beginning of an entrance procedure is submission of a completed electronic application form for the university studies in a set term and with all necessities. Applicants must fill out the electronic application in English !!! The application form for the studies must be filled on-line, paper application form filled by hand will not be accepted !!!

The application form for university studies will be filled by applicant in at the internet address https://prihlaska.cvut.cz.

The application form must be honestly and entirely completed. The completed electronic application form must be printed and sent with applicant’s signature to the study department. The transfer of the fee onto Faculty’s account for the tasks connected with the entrance procedure of CZK 650,- can be made via internet card payment at the internet address https://prihlaska.cvut.cz. When using other payment than via internet card payment, the applicant must provide proof of payment of the fee !!!

Applicants should send their application for studies at university to the study department of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences in Prague. Untrue, incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.

It is necessary to indicate a study programme (bachelor´s degree study) and a form of study (full-time) in the application form.

Applications submitted after 31st March 2018 will not be considered !!!

Applicants for study at the FTS who have not completed bachelor studies will only be accepted to the Bachelor’s Degree programme „Technology in Transportation and Telecommunications“.

Applicants for a full-time study of the Bachelor´s Degree programme should indicate the study field, which they are instrested in, in the application.

The fee for studies delivered in English is given by Appendix 5 „Study fees“ to the CTU Statute (the fee is 55 000 CZK per one semester). The specification of the fee payment and the study conditions will be set in the agreement between the CTU in Prague Faculty of Transportation Sciences and a student.

Admission conditions, entrance examinations and criteria of their evaluation

Bachelor´s degree study programme:
„Technology in Transportation and Telecommunications“ completed in Prague in the study field PIL – Professional Pilot

The condition for acceptance into the Bachelor’s degree study programme in the field PIL - „Professional Pilot“ is the completion of full secondary education with a school-leaving exam, no later than the day of the entrance examination.

Applicants for the studies are to take a written entrance examination in mathematics and also a written test for the English language.

In accordance with the written instructions from the Faculty (delivered in a registered letter during May 2018) all applicants will submit a certified copy of a school-leaving exam certificate; the applicants who completed full secondary education
with a school-leaving exam abroad will submit a validated school-leaving exam certificate (with the exception of those who have completed full secondary education with a school-leaving exam in the Slovak Republic).

Entrance examination will take place during one day in the period from 1st June 2018 till 26ths June 2018 in Prague.

Date, time and place of the entrance examination will be stated on the invitation to the entrance examination that will be delivered to the applicants by means of a registered letter sent by the Faculty at least 3 weeks before the date of the exam. In case when applicant is not able to attend the entrance examination in Prague on the assigned date and time and when the applicant excuses himself with the faculty’s study department no later than on the day of the entrance examination, he / she may be given opportunity to attend alternate entrance examination. Alternate entrance examination for excused applicants will take place in the period from 3rd September 2018 till 14ths September 2018.

In the written mathematics test the applicant should demonstrate the ability to independently solve problems within the scope of secondary school mathematics of average difficulty:

  • duration of the multiple-choice mathematics test is 70 minutes
  • it consists of a set of 15 maths problems; for 10 of them the applicants can score 1 point for each correct answer and 2 points for the remaining 5 problems
  • maximum score is 20 points
  • for the written examination the applicants will bring writing implements and several blank sheets of paper (format A4) only
  • the use of other aids and electronic devices including mobile phones is strictly prohibited

Intermediate knowledge of English is assumed for the successful completion of a written test:

  • written test in English takes 60 minutes
  • the maximum number of points is 20

By passing the entrance examination, the applicant takes note of the following preconditions for successful practical pilot training:

  • the need to obtain proof of Medical certificate before beginning of practical pilot training
    • Class 1 Medical Certificate (issued according to EASA, FAA or DGCA standards)
    • in the case of non EASA Medical certificate, applicant will be required to obtain Class 1 Medical certificate compliant with EASA standards at The Institute of Aviation medicine in Prague
    • costs associated with obtaining Medical certificate is paid by the applicant, and in any case he / she cannot claim reimbursement of the fee from the Czech Technical University in Prague Faculty of Transportation Sciences
  • ability to cover the financial costs of practical pilot training from his / her own financial resources
    • training can only be done in an integrated ATP(A) course compliant with EASA
    • theoretical training during the studies (the fee is 55 000 CZK per one semester) in the bachelor degree is free of charge
    • costs associated with practical pilot training are estimated at approximately CZK 950 000,-

A preparatory courseIntroduction to Information systems of CTU in Prague Faculty of Transportation Sciences”, intended for students of 1st year of studies of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Prague will be provided by the Department of Applied Informatics in Transportation, FTS (K 614). Duration of the course is 90 minutes; the course will be held on 26th September 2018 in the premises of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences. Detailed information (venue of the course, dividing of students into groups) will be published on the website of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences on 25th September 2018 at the latest. Criteria for determining entrance examination:

  • evaluation of results of the entrance procedure is based on the result of the written entrance examination (see above) and the assessment of preconditions for successful pilot training
  • maximum total score is 100
  • calculation of the points according to a formula and ranking of applicants based on the final number of points is performed anonymously by means of the computer software
  • for acceptance into the bachelor’s studies in the fieldPIL – Professional pilot“ the obtained results of written entrance procedure are evaluated according to the following formula:

    M = 0..........the applicant taking the entrance examination does not have a school-leaving exam certificate

  • applicants will be accepted into studies according to the order resulting from total score (VPB) sorted from maximum to minimum until the number of applicants accepted for the academic year 2018 – 2019 is met
  • in the academic year 2018 – 2019 the tuition of 1st level of study field„PIL – Professional Pilot“ taught in English will begin in case when at least of 13 applicants are accepted as students
  • for the academic year 2018 – 2019 maximum of 45 applicants who achieve the final number of points VPB ≥ 70 will be accepted as students of the full-time Bachelor’s Degree programme taught in English completed in Prague in the study field PIL – Professional Pilot assuming that tuition of 1st level of study in this study field taught in English is realized in the academic year 2018 – 2019 (see above)
Decision of acceptance and registration into study

According to § 51, article 1 of The Higher Education Act No. 111/1998 and the amendment of other acts (hereafter „Act“), right for enrolment is granted to applicant by notification on decision of acceptance. The faculty will inform accepted applicants of the enrollment date and time along with the decision of acceptance into studies. The Faculty when setting the maximum number of accepted applicants for a relevant academic year plans for current tuition capacity and also for the fact that some percentage of accepted applicants will not register into the study. The applicant becomes student on the day of enrolment (§ 61, article 1 of the Act).

The result of the admission procedure can be found on the website https://prihlaska.cvut.cz after entering the application code.

The Decision of Acceptance will be delivered to the applicant in writing. The applicant has the right to access the file only after the decision has been notified (§ 50, article 5 of the Act).

Applicant may appeal against the decision within 30 days starting on the day of notification of the decision.

Final provisions

This admission procedure announcement containing conditions of acceptance into studies will be published on the official notice board of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences and on the website of the CTU in Prague Faculty of Transportation Sciences (https://www.fd.cvut.cz) by 30th November 2017.

Master´s Degree programme:
    „Technology in Transportation and Telecommunications“ following the Bachelor´s Degree programme

Applicants for study at the FTS who have not completed bachelor studies will only be accepted to the Bachelor’s Degree programme „Technology in Transportation and Telecommunications“.

Applicants for a full-time study of the following Master´s Degree programme should indicate the study field, which they are instrested in, in the application.

The students will be included into projects on the basis of a chosen project, which they write in the application for studies and which is written in the documents for entrance procedures according to written order of the Faculty, within projects entrance procedure according to their own project choice preferences. Students are included into study fields and projects from the 1st year of study.

In the following Master´s Degree programme the tuition is only held in the full-time study form. It is necessary to include the entry „Study form“ and „Previous study at university“ in the application for the university studies.

Admission conditions, entrance examinations and criteria of their evaluation

Master´s Degree programme:
„Technology in Transportation and Telecommunications“ following the Bachelor´s Degree programme in the study fields „IS – Intelligent Transport Systems“ and „PL – Air Traffic Control and Management

The condition for applicants, who successfully completed bachelor’s degree at a foreign university or at an university in the Czech Republic in a study programme or in a study field taught in English for acceptance into a Master´s Degree programme following Bachelor´s Degree programme is only completion of Bachelor´s Degree programme (by passing state final examination) providing knowledge that meets required profile of an applicant and corresponding to the fundaments in mathematics, physics and technological courses which corresponds to the bachelor´s study programmes of transportation, technological or informatics specializations. These applicants will not take a written acceptance test.

The study fields of Master´s Degree programme „IS – Intelligent Transport Systems“ and „PL – Air Traffic Control and Management“ are available also in English. The applicants for the field of „IS – Intelligent Transport Systems“ and „PL – Air Traffic Control and Management“ taught in English must fill in the electronic application form for studies in the English language !!! The fee for studies delivered in English is given by Appendix 5 „Study fees“ to the CTU Statute (the fee is 66 000 CZK per one semester) for the students registered in the study of the fieldIS – Intelligent Transport systems“ and „PL – Air Traffic Control and Management“ (with the exception of „joint-degrees“ in the study fields IS – „Intelligent Transport Systems“
and PL – „Air Traffic Control and Management“, which follows the Dean’s Directive No. 4/2017). The specification of the fee payment and the study conditions will be set in the agreement between the CTU in Prague Faculty of Transportation Sciences and a student.

Simultaneously with the application for the study (filled out in English !!!) the applicants for the fields „IS – Intelligent Transport Systems“ and „PL – Air Traffic Control and Management“ taught in English, who successfully completed Bachelor’s Degree programme at a foreign university or at an university in the Czech Republic in a study programme or in a study field taught in English, will submit the following documents at the study department in Prague:

  • verified copy of the diploma and diploma supplement or transcript of records (of completed courses) from the university at which they completed their Bachelor´s Degree programme, and nostrification of the diploma from the university (with the exception of the universities in the Slovak Republic) where they have completed their bachelor’s study – applicants can submit a nostrification of the diploma from the university also later, but they must take into consideration that submission of a nostrification of the diploma from the university is the condition for issue of decision of acceptance of applicant into studies
  • record of grades in all completed courses confirmed by a university (stamp and official signature)
  • document that proves command of English (one of the following options):
    • citizenship of a state with official language „English“
    • successfully completed study of English certificate within previous university studies (it is not necessary to take the entire study in English)
    • international certificate Cambridge English: FCE (First Certificate in English)
    • international certificate Cambridge English: CAE (Certificate in Advanced English)
    • international certificate Cambridge English: CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English)
    • international certificate City & Guilds: ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)
    • international certificate IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
    • international certificate TELC (The European Language Certificates)
    • TOEFL® (Test Of English as Foreign Language)

If an applicant does not submit together with his application for study all necessary documents for acceptance, it is assumed he is not interested in the study at the Faculty. The applicants, who successfully completed Bachelor’s Degree programme at an university in the Czech Republic in a study programme or in a study field taught in English, can the aforementioned required documents submit later according to the Faculty´s written instruction that they get in a registered letter during May 2018.

A student registers in the study field „IS – Intelligent Transport Systems“ or „PL – Air Traffic Control and Management“ at a project entrance procedure, which all the applicants will take compulsorily part in according to the Faculty´s written instruction that they get in a registered letter during May 2018.

If an applicant does not submit by the set term all necessary documents for a project entrance procedure it is assumed that he is not interested in the study at the Faculty.

In the academic year 2018 – 2019 the tuition of 1st level of study field „PL – Air Traffic Control and Management“ taught in English (with the exception of „joint-degrees“ in the study field PL – „Air Traffic Control and Management“) will begin in case when at least of 15 applicants are accepted as students (applicants for this study field, who fulfill all other conditions of acceptance, will be accepted into the following Master´s Degree programme „N 3710 – Technolgy in Transportation and Telecommunications“ and also for the fact that in accordance with written instructions from the Faculty they can confirm their interest in alternative study fieldIS – Intelligent Transport Systems“ taught in English to the study department).

For the academic year 2018 – 2019 all applicants for the full-time study of the Master´s Degree programme in the study fields „IS – Intelligent Transport Systems“ and „PL – Air Traffic Control and Management“ taught in English will be accepted providing they fulfill all the conditions of acceptance.


„Joint-degrees“ in the study fields IS – Intelligent Transport Systems and PL – Air Traffic Control and Management:

Tuition of € 500,- per semester of study (€ 2.000,- in total for the whole degree study) is for students who study in the fieldIS – Intelligent Transport Systems“ in English (according to § 47a of the Act) and in collaboration with a foreign university (Linköpings universitet in Sweden), where a study programme of related content is carried out.

Tuition of € 500,- per semester of study (€ 2.000,- in total for the whole degree study) is for students enrolled at CTU in Prague Faculty of Transportation Sciences primarily who study in the fieldPL – Air Traffic Control and Management“ in English (according to § 47a of the Act) and in collaboration with a foreign university (Institut Teknologi Bandung – Fakultas Teknik Mesin dan Dirgantara in Indonesia), where a study programme of related content is carried out.

No fee is for students enrolled at Institut Teknologi Bandung – Fakultas Teknik Mesin dan Dirgantara primarily who study in the fieldPL – Air Traffic Control and Management“ in English (according to § 47a of the Act) and in collaboration with a foreign university (Institut Teknologi Bandung – Fakultas Teknik Mesin dan Dirgantara in Indonesia), where a study programme of related content is carried out.

The graduates from such a type of study (from the mentioned above) in a study programme that is completed within the collaboration of a foreign university will obtain an academic degree „engineer“ (in abbreviation „Ing.“ written before the name) according to § 46 paragraph 4 of the Act and also an academic degree from the foreign university according to legislation in the relevant country. The collaborating foreign university is stated in the university diploma of CTU in Czech and English. The specification of the fee payment and the study conditions will be set in the agreement between the CTU in Prague Faculty of Transportation Sciences and a student.

The applicants have to ask for a registration into the „joint-degrees“ study of the field „IS – Intelligent Transport Systems“ or „PL – Air Traffic Control and Management“ in the form of a letter. The letter must be delivered (submitted) together with the filled and printed electronic application form by 31st March 2018.

The collaborating universities Linköpings universitet (Sweden) and Institut Teknologi Bandung – Fakultas Teknik Mesin dan Dirgantara (Indonesia) assume the right not to accept applicant for the „joint-degrees“ study. The CTU in Prague Faculty of Transportation Sciences does not take any responsibility for the decision of collaborating university.
