The doctoral programme in Transportation Systems and Technology (D) is a highly specialized academic education that focuses on advanced research and innovation in transportation systems and technology. This study is designed for students who wish to contribute to the development of new knowledge and technology in the field of transport, and can lead to careers in academic research, engineering and consultancy.
The structure of the study focuses on deepening the knowledge of transport infrastructure, process information systems in transport and transport technology. In the course of the study, the PhD student gains experience in preparing grant projects and, thanks to active participation in international scientific conferences, is able to competently communicate the results of his/her scientific work to a wider professional and lay public.
The graduate will find employment in creative solutions to problems of transport systems and technology at scientific research and development departments as well as university departments. The graduate will also find employment as a top expert in complex solutions of transport and spatial planning work and in the organisation of integrated transport systems, in design institutions and in state administration, in leading professional positions for solving transport systems issues and in management positions in industrial enterprises. He/she is able to develop basic or applied research at technical faculties, in research organisations or institutes of Czech Academy of Sciences as well as at foreign research institutes.
