The city of Písek, as one of the first cities in the Czech Republic, created a specialized group of experts in the Smart City approach. These experts include representatives from the Faculty of Transportation Sciences, CTU in Prague, who implemented Smart transport solutions through a systematic approach and integration of individual transport solutions.
As part of the implemented concept, a new stationary traffic system was created, including digitization, or a new public transport system was created, which involved a complete change of route management and was supplemented by the implementation of low-energy information systems. Subsequently, the entire vehicle fleet was replaced with low-floor and zero-emission vehicles, and shared cycling was added as part of public transport. The concept includes a binding plan for the development of transport in the city of Písek. Cooperation at this level continues.
