Characteristic

The laboratory provides technical support and premises for joint research. In addition, it offers services in the field of electron microscopy for students and researchers of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences of the CTU (hereinafter referred to as the FTS CTU) and the Institute of Experimental and Applied Physics of the CTU in Prague (IEAP CTU).

The laboratory of electron microscopy is a part of the Department of Mechanics and Materials of the FTS CTU. The main purpose of the laboratory is to support students’ projects within their project oriented education in both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes.

The laboratory acquires instrumentation for the electron microscopy that is at the disposal of the students and researchers of the FTS CTU and IEAP CTU.

Specialization:

• preparation of samples for electron microscopy
• theoretical support for imaging by means of the electron microscopy
• display of the sample by means of the electron microscopy – display of the sample’s surface using the secondary electrons (SE) / display of the backscattered electrons (BSE)
