The mission of the Department of Languages and Humanities is to link technical and humanities education in order to deepen the general outlook of the student and to focus on the needs of the future bachelor and transport engineer and their deployment in contemporary society, especially on the labour market. Special emphasis is placed on the language skills of the future graduate of our faculty.

The Department of Languages and Humanities provides the following services in Prague or Děčín:

• language training for students at various levels of proficiency with regard to professional issues
• basic courses in humanities (history, art history, sociology, psychology, philosophy, etc.); specialized lectures (e.g. History of Civil Aviation, History of Railway Transport, History of Public Transport, Traffic Psychology, Health Protection in Transport, etc.)
• teaching projects in bachelor and master studies
• psychological counselling for students and employees of CTU
