Keywords:
materials science, atomistic models, lattice defects, degradation mechanisms mechanics, fatigue, creep
Abstract:
Atomistic models, lattice defects influence on properties of materials, stiffness, plasticity, strength, fracture, fatigue, creep, corrosion, effects of environment and loading on materials' behavior are the main discussed topics.
Objectives:
The goal of this course is to elucidate the relationship between the phenomenological description of structural materials (mainly metals) and physical mechanisms and causes at the level of the microstructure.
