Abstract:
The economics of air transport is a key subject for understanding market relations in air transport. The introduction is devoted to understanding the basic economic principles. This is followed by a practical section that economic linkages in the domain of airlines.
Objectives:
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic issues of economics and then to follow up on more complex problems of air transport. Students will thus understand the principles of demand and supply in air transport and the specific problems related to these topics. At the same time, they will gain a comprehensive understanding of costs and their different types as well as airline revenues and yields. An important part is devoted to strategies and various disciplines of airline management.
