Evolutionary Techniques in Transportation

Abstract:
The goal of the project is to explore possibilities of using genetic algorithms, genetic programming or other evolutionary techniques respectively in the area of solving transportation problems like TSP, location problems, etc. Now, evolution techniques are applied to the railway timetable optimization problem. The actual topics for diploma thesis is to create an application in C++ with help of Qt library, which draws results of evolution of wiring of circuit. It is possible to explore using evolutionary techniques in problems related to the transportation and telecommunications, especially on the system level (automata and grammar construct, grammar integration etc.). There is also a chance to explore new occasion of GA application in the man-machine interaction area, for example EEG signal analysis.
