Human and Global Communication

Abstract:
The project focuses on the study of telecommunication technologies, networks and services and their use mainly for real-time process control. The individual topics are based not only on the current state of the field in the Czech Republic but also on the forecasts of the development of modern telecommunication systems that are developed for mass deployment (mobile networks, IP multimedia networks) as well as systems that are designed for specific solutions where, for example, guarantees of the specified quality of service are required. Within the projects, specific solutions are conceived on the basis of analyses of requirements for telecommunication systems, especially in the context of their integration into transport systems, where the telecommunication parameters achieved (telecommunication performance indicators) are among the key system parameters (telematic performance indicators). The individual tasks are set in the framework of studying telematics and telecommunication projects within the national and international research programmes carried out by the Faculty of Transportation sciences (e.g. C-ROADS), as well as in relation to specific industry assignments (e.g. Škoda Auto). The project has at its disposal the capacities of the CertiLab laboratory, including its technological facilities, and it is possible to carry out the final thesis with the available equipment, which is constantly being expanded (4G and 5G network simulators, C-ITS units, IoT, 3D printing, RF measuring equipment and much more). Students have the opportunity to work closely with R&D staff and non-academic staff within the laboratory.
