The goal of all studies, which deal with aviation in any way, was and still is to improve air traffic safety. According to statistical data available with regard to aviation accidents, great portion was caused by human error. Further, more than half of these accidents is caused by piloting error. The goal of this project is to identify factors based on monitoring of psychophysiological state of aviation professionals (especially pilots) and their performance, which could contribute to improvements in air traffic safety. The project is, therefore, oriented towards human factors in aviation with the primary focus on pilots (but not limited to) and their performance, training and actual psychophysiological condition. Within the project, topics based on monitoring of psychophysiological functions, reaction time, training progress and performance of aviation professionals are emphasized together with proposal for suitable mathematical methods for these data evaluation. The project also deals with topics related to the use of virtual and augmented reality in aviation. The project is intended for students with interest in data analysis with the utilization of mathematical and statistical methods for the purpose of those factors objectivization, which could have negative effect on air traffic safety, with the focus on human factors.
