About Department

The Institute was established in 2005 and provides teaching of subjects in the Bachelor, Master and Doctoral degree programmes of the Faculty of Transportation Sciences. It guarantees subjects such as Road Accident Analysis, Road Accident Prevention and teaches students to create models in programmes used in expert practice. In the project and in the classroom, students can learn about surveying instruments, 3D scanners and can enrich their work with these methods.

The institute is registered in Section 2 of the list of expert institutes and prepares expert assessments for the courts and the Police of the Czech Republic. It has links with the judiciary, the legislature, the integrated rescue system and industry. Students have the opportunity of internships with partners in the Czech Republic and abroad.

The Institute solves complex and professionally demanding problems requiring special scientific assessment in technical and economic terms in the field of accidents, safety and traffic in transport - as a basis for legal decision-making. The Institute also serves for teaching of experts and research in this field.
