Annotation:
This essay critically examines the Bridgerton series through a historical lens, focusing on period mentalities, customs, culture, and European racial minority history. It highlights apparent inaccuracies, particularly in character behaviors inconsistent with the Regency period. Despite claims of an "alternative society" embracing diversity, the Bridgerton also suggests a regression in societal norms and manners. Consequently, the series conveys a troubling racist undertone, necessitating a broader discourse.

Driving is an important component of mobility for older people. Seniors are often attributed a greater likelihood of an accident without taking into account their limited participation in road traffic, their precautionary strategy of driving more slowly and the limitations of driving in low visibility. The authors address the question of how and at what risk older people can be and remain mobile. They analyse the possibilities of compensating for age-related deficits. They address physical, sensory, psychomotor, intellectual and overall changes in function, as well as the compensatory possibilities of the ageing person. Aging is generally associated with a decline in cognitive performance, but with great variability in when functional decline becomes clinically apparent. The paper also includes a detailed characterization of different types of errors. Finally, attention is given to preventive measures leading to safe participation of older persons in road traffic.

This article focuses on the perception of anonymity surrounding fallen soldiers in mid-19th-century war memorials in the Habsburg Empire and military funerals in Britain. Researchers working in Central Europe may draw surprisingly different conclusions than Anglo-American works. This article aims to compensate for this lack of research. The anonymity of war memorials in the Habsburg Empire (especially in the Czech lands) nearly disappeared during the first half of the 19th century. We seek an explanation for the four main changes that took place at that time. Firstly, fundamental changes in society; secondly, evolving aesthetics reflected in war memorials; thirdly, a difference in the way wars were waged; and finally, changing emotions towards the fallen, the homeland, and family. Similar changes were taking place in Britain when the soldier ceased to be just a living instrument of war, but first and foremost a human being.

All students of FD ČVUT currently study two foreign languages. The training is carried out consistently, the first one comes in the beginning, then another language is selected, one of the two must be English, which may be both the first and the second language of the student's choice. As noted by the students themselves, the process of forgetting the language while they are not engaged, is very fast, especially for a new language or the one with the lower level of knowledge. It is possible to tell that about half of our students knows English at the level B2 and better, so they could study the next foreign language in English. Part of the students studying at the FD are foreigners, for whom the mother or second mother tongue is Russian, however studying English on the basis of the Czech is a big problem for them. Our experiments have helped to solve the problem of teaching all students simultaneously two or more languages with the selection of optimal solutions to individual problems.

The article focuses on history of course evaluations in European universities. It explores how university students judge their teacher’s performance. The university evaluations have their history in many different countries; we explored examples from the Federal Republic of Germany, the Czech Republic, and Russian Federation in several historic periods. It analyses in which moment the feedback becomes the source of anarchy. It explored different criteria for evaluations depending on different types of schools: private and state, technical universities and schools of humanities, it recalls cases when the evaluations became the mean of personal revenge, or the way to press on teacher. The university evaluations form a completely new phenomenon in the universities, which are located in European coutries, affected by their socialistic and totalitarian past.
