Characteristics

picture from laboratory

The Laboratory of Measurement Methods in Transport is part of the Institute of Forensic Experts in Transportation. The activities of the laboratory are tailored to support student projects within the project-oriented teaching of bachelor and master study programmes. It focuses mainly on topics related to transport safety and topics applicable to the institute's expert practice.

The laboratory brings together the institute's instrumentation and enables better management, higher efficiency and usability of individual equipment in the performance of scientific research activities not only of the institute's employees, but also of PhD students and other students. It provides training to the scientific staff in the operation of the equipment and assists with the correct evaluation of the measured values and the correct interpretation of the results.

Areas:

  • high-speed sensing of physical processes
  • accelerometer, strain gauge and force gauge measurements
  • geodetic surveying of objects
  • 3D scanning of spatial objects
  • mathematical simulations of driving conditions (PC-Crash, VirtualCrash)
