CIH will significantly support digital transformation and application of innovation in SMEs and public administration by building a coordinated and effective ecosystem comprising top research institutions with the necessary know-how and infrastructure, specialized business clusters, professional organizations, and public authorities. This robust ecosystem will provide its beneficiaries with access to education and information on cybersecurity trends and best practices, to expert advice and state-of-the-art infrastructures to verify the suitability and security of innovative solutions under consideration and increase the availability of funds to invest in innovation. CIH will also function as a platform for cooperation and information sharing between entities in the cybersecurity market, both at the level of Czechia and the EU. This will increase the efficiency and competitiveness of the EU cybersecurity industry, the security of IT infrastructures and the strength of the EU economy. CIH draws on partnerships and participation in international networks and builds on the success of Czech research and industry. CIH covers cybersecurity on the horizontal from various points of view (technical, legal, economic, social etc.), on the vertical CIH operates at all levels - it plays an important role in building the legislative environment, in research, commercialization and implementation of technologies, and in awareness raising and education. CIH also has links to standardization and certification that shape the cybersecurity market. This holistic approach and the ability to thoroughly map the ecosystem make CIH an attractive partner for international cooperation. This is also confirmed by its participation in 3 EU pilot research projects (Sparta, CyberSec4Europe and Concordia), cooperation with the EU and international organizations (ENISA, Europol, UN, NIST, etc.), and involvement in professional initiatives (e.g. REWIRE - capacity building in cybersecurity in the EU).

The Cybersecurity Innovation Hub (further referred to as CIH) is currently the only European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) in the Czech Republic—and one of the few in Central Europe—specifically dedicated to Cybersecurity and Trust, aligning with Specific Objective 3 of the Digital Europe Programme (DEP). The now proposed Cybersecurity Innovation Hub II (further referred to as CIH II) under the DIGITAL-2025-EDIH-EU-EEA-08-CONSOLIDATION-STEP call (further referred only as “the Call”) is a natural continuation and extension of the current successful CIH addressing the requirements defined in the Call, namely reflecting the transformation potential of AI technologies and leveraging its uptake while preserving Union values of democracy and humanity. It is also better targeted to the current needs of society that continually change due to new and expected legislation, tough geopolitical situation, and progress in technology. Primary attention is given to goals defined by the Call, namely covering the transition to AI-enabled secure society and economy. As AI acts as enabler of secure system design and operation, it naturally helps to promote secure user behaviour, but is on the other hand a sensitive target of cyberattacks. In-depth understanding of AI-related risks is inevitable for defence against AI-enabled cyberattacks using sophisticated methods ranging from vulnerability discovery to manipulation of public opinion through fake-news.

The DECIDE project aims to create a virtual design platform to democratise access to advanced semiconductor technologies across Europe. This platform will support the innovation and competitiveness of European startups, SMEs, and research institutions. By integrating Design Enablement Teams (DETs), the platform will offer customized support, access to Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, intellectual property (IP), and pilot line technologies, helping Europe to deploy next-generation semiconductor technologies rapidly. DECIDE addresses the decline in Europe's global semiconductor market share, particularly in the fabless sector. The project aims to reverse this trend by expanding the number of European fabless companies. The unified platform will lower barriers to entry for SMEs and startups by reducing the costs associated with EDA tools and IP, enabling these companies to innovate and grow. DECIDE will provide early access to advanced technologies, fostering Europe's leadership in the global semiconductor space. In addition to economic growth, DECIDE contributes to environmental sustainability by promoting the design of energy-efficient chips, aligning with the European Green Deal. It will support the development of eco-friendly technologies while also addressing Europe's reliance on non-European technologies. By building a robust semiconductor design ecosystem, DECIDE ensures that Europe can compete globally and retain technological sovereignty. The project's core objectives include supporting startups and SMEs, democratizing access to EDA tools, and fostering a sustainable semiconductor ecosystem. By offering access to advanced technologies, training, and a marketplace for IP, DECIDE will boost innovation and strengthen Europe's semiconductor industry. The platform will also help reduce financial and technical barriers, allowing more companies to develop and bring new technologies to market, ultimately contributing to Europe's digital and environmental goals.

The Action aims to develop a system for Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that will enable the use of electronic signatures and electronic seals in line with eIDAS Regulation and standards (signature/seal creation and/or validation). Initially it will focus on enhancing document handling in Polish HEIs and on secure cross-border exchanges, but eventually it will made available for use in small medium-sized enterprises in Poland. Specifically, the Action will design and develop a highly configurable eSignature solution to be used in Higher Education, deploy it in the Polish Higher Education area and validate it in the cross-border exchange of documents using a European-wide platform for the secure transfer of student data between HEIs (Erasmus Without Paper platform and EMREX Network). The eSignForStudy will be based on the eSignature DSI Building Block’s DSS open-source library (incorporating the library’s code). It will resemble a black box concept, with optional/interchangeable components and open interfaces to enable interoperability. It will support an easy way of handling and interacting with the components of a PKI, considering systems with certificates stored in local secure repositories – Hardware Security Module, its software equivalent, or encrypted databases. If qualified signatures are required and cannot be downloaded to the local infrastructure, they can be stored in a remote cloud managed by the Qualified Certified Authority. It will allow for using trusted timestamp services delivered by certified providers. Using a modular approach, easy deployment will be guaranteed by delivering corresponding preconfigured containers to conform the final deployment fulfilling the requirements for each institution. For testing and validation, the University of Warsaw (UNIWARSAW) will integrate the eSignForStudy with their Student Information System (SIS), already connected to the Erasmus Without Paper (EWP) platform and EMREX Network. Both platforms allow for se

The objective of the EM4EM project is to achieve high system reliability from the perspective of noise immunity (EMR) of nano electronic components (IC - sensors - power devices) and electronic modules required for future developments in automotive and semiconductor industries. Special attention will be given to electrical propulsion systems. Synergy with other closely related industries operating also in harsh electromagnetic environments will be gained. New methodologies to reduce electromagnetic noise emission generated by power electronic components, modules and systems, and to increase vice versa the noise immunity of smart sensors systems will be developed. Aspects of Time-To-Market and cost efficiency will be taken into account. Nano-electronic systems (including the sensor technologies) and power semiconductors for Electrical Vehicles (EV) are subjects of this research project with the focus on technology development for the EMR improvements.
