The project will deal with new technological but also socio-economic tools for sustainable development of transport or logistics. The main focus will be on the integration of AI tools, AR/VR technologies and others in line with the national RIS3 strategy for reducing the carbon burden. All these topics are being addressed by the department K617, and in 2025 it has become the main partner of the Ministry of Regional Development specifically on RIS3 Carbon Neutrality. In addition to K617, the K614, K611 and K20 representatives will also participate in the project. Practical teaching will take place in the CTU-UTEP Digital Twin Lab using state-of-the-art Apple Vision Pro technology in cooperation with partner university UTEP and other European partner institutions from the HE CAPACities 2.0 project.

The Smart City concept brings new and nowadays highly desirable solutions for modern cities, which are increasingly beginning to appear in the Czech Republic. Even though the Smart City topic is often discussed, most of people know only partial or distorted information about this program. The target of this project is to explain this concept in a broader context, show smart traffic solutions in practice and combine contexts and theory with individual Smart solutions into future projects or into practice. Students in this project can create new transport solutions themselves that fit into Smart City concept or they can elaborate existing theoretical solutions and to put them into practice. The subject of student interest is arbitrary, because Smart City interferes with all transport sectors. It is therefore possible to deal with public transport, cycling, parking or the organization and coordination of all kinds of transport and other similar topics. The advantage is also the possible cooperation with the towns, which also deal with this program, such as the town Písek.
