Specialization:
Department of Forensic Experts in Transportation
Project deals with introduction to the problems of solving and complex analysis of accident process (decision-making process of traffic participants – subjective parameters, analysis of marks and damage – objective parameters), road and vehicles safety (damage and accident prevention) and other problems that are related to forensic practices (vehicle dynamics, crashtests and 3D modelling). Within the frame of project students make the one´s acquaintance with principles of data collection and processing (vehicle and crash dynamics measurement), with computerised method used for analysis of accident process and with 3D modelling (using 3D scanners or photogrammetry and processing of 3D data).

The project is primarily focused on transport infrastructure safety. As part of the project, students will learn about the application of systematic tools for increasing the level of safety of transport infrastructure, such as road safety audit, road safety inspection or identification and proposal of modifications of accident locations. Students will be introduced to these issues both theoretically and practically. The project will enable students to actively participate in the development of such thematic projects, e.g. for The Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic. Students will also learn the principles for collecting the data necessary to analyse the level of safety of transport infrastructure, including their adequate interpretation and effective use in further phases of the proposal in order to ensure safe transport infrastructure. The project is primarily focused on road infrastructure, but safety issues at level crossings can also be solved.
