The project aims to develop and implement a modular urban electric vehicle platform for testing existing and future experimental alternative energy sources and human-machine interface (HMI) solutions in the context of connectivity and shared mobility. A sub-objective is the implementation of elements enabling research on driver behaviour and consumption optimisation in specific urban traffic. In the first phase of the grant, a concept will be developed, manufacturing documentation will be created and the production of the chassis of a test modular platform, which initially includes removable battery boxes, will start, including a design concept to automate their replacement. The concept of the platform will also be designed to allow for the future integration of other alternative sources (e.g. fuel cells). The first powertrain to be implemented will be an electric motor with a gearbox and differential enabling front axle drive. A sub-objective of the first phase is also to start the development of the vehicle interface and the infotainment system, which will then be implemented in the urban vehicle under development. The second phase of the project will focus on completing the production of the chassis, conducting partial tests on the powertrain in terms of functionality, personalisation options, battery storage, as well as verifying connectivity and implementing HMI user solutions.
