The Academic Senate is a self-governing representative academic body of the faculty, elected by all members of the academic community in equal direct secret elections. It guarantees academic freedoms, opportunities for individual development of members of the academic community, and the growth of professional and pedagogical levels in accordance with European culture and economy. The Academic Senate is composed of representatives of the faculty's academic community - academic staff and students.
The Academic Senate of the Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Transportation Sciences (AS FTS), consists of two chambers: a twelve-member employee chamber and a seven-member student chamber. The term of office of the Senate is three years.
Meetings of the AS FD are usually held once a month and are open to the public.
