The project strengthens the innovation capacity of SMEs in the target region in the promising field of railways and enables them to achieve their own economic success in this sector. To this end, the project will qualitatively develop the Smart Rail Connectivity Campus (SRCC) into a cross-border cluster and provide transfer services for SMEs. These consist in two areas of activity (OP): networking and knowledge transfer, as well as the development of joint cooperation intentions. OP A Networking/Knowledge transfer Regional SMEs are linked to each other and to relevant actors in the sector (railway companies, research institutions, etc.) through cross-border exchange formats. In addition, contacts, relevant industry and market knowledge and highly topical areas for cross-border R&D activities are transferred. OP B Developing ideas for joint cooperation Building on OP A, regional SMEs will be supported through advisory services and creative meeting formats ("innovation workshop") in identifying and formulating promising cross-border innovation ideas in the railway field and in finding the necessary partners. In addition, SMEs will receive important advice on the implementation of ideas in the complex railway sector (regulations and processes to be followed, possibilities for testing on regional test fields in coordination with DB RegioNetz/SJ, organisational skills needed, stakeholders to be involved, and initiation meetings etc.
