The proposed project is focused on the development of a control system for control of in-house developed laboratory devices. These solutions are derived from industrial CNC machines principles using similar components (i.e. stepper motors, servo motors, encoders, etc.), but extra functionality over the industrial solutions is required for proper control of the laboratory devices. The complex material testing requires real time synchronization of the mechanical positioning parts control with the sensors read-out and signal processing in one modular close-loop system. Due to significant improvement achieved in the laboratory devices design in recent years, new functionality of the control system is required. New features of the control hardware are demanded as well as new features of the control software. Both the hardware and software upgrades will lead into development of more complex experimental procedures with closed-loop control based on real-time image processing.
