The aim of the project is to create a system for improvement of the air traffic effectiveness and safety at the airport movement area. The simulation of the ATC at the airport will be created. The pilot implementation will be done for the Václav Havel Airport Prague. The system will enable realistic modeling of the aircraft movements and model of air traffic controllers’ cognitive behavior. The airport's operational needs will be analyzed and simulation scenarios will be proposed. Using the scenarios, the “what-if” studies will be performed, e.g. configurations, procedures, and activities. The output of the project will be a digital model of the airport suitable for other airport operators and ANSPs, enabling air traffic optimization and analysis of the future development of the airport.

The project aims to implement and validate a concept of operations based on the forthcoming Surface Movement Awareness System Service (SMAS) standard at a regional airport in the Czech Republic. The project proposal also contains a safety study that shall be conducted before implementing the concept of operations and assessing whether the concept of operations meets the necessary level of safety for future SMAS operational certification. Another objective is the development of a surveillance application compliant with the SMAS standard, based, among other things, on Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) surveillance data, with the possible addition of Human Machine Interface (HMI) elements and alerting functions according to the requirements of the project partner Kunovice Airport. Also, the project aims to address the interoperability of the surveillance application developed according to the SMAS standard with other surveillance and operational tools/systems that may already be implemented at the airport. The need to address interoperability is based on the limitations of SMAS, which does not provide data fusion functionality with other systems.

Annotation:
The purpose of the project is to modernize the technical equipment of the air traffic control simulator to meet modern standards, to be compatible with the systems used by EUROCONTROL, to fully support quality teaching of students, to enable them to model and validate various scientific issues in the framework of their final theses and, prospectively, to enable an increase in the number of working positions on the simulator and the use of the best solution in the promotion of FD. The ambition of the Institute is to build a modern facility,which in the near future would also serve as a facility for basic training of air traffic controllers, which the Institute, as training organisation to provide.

Cílem projektu je zvýšit kvalitu poskytování služeb AFIS/Radio na neřízených letištích při zvyšujícím se provozu pilotovaných a bezpilotních letadel pomocí výzkumu a vývoje moderních prvků digitalizace a automatizace rozšiřujících technické zabezpečení poskytování služeb včetně navržení minimálních výkonnostních parametrů technického vybavení a příslušných provozních postupů. Dílčí cíle projektu: a) navrhnout využití prvků konceptu vzdáleného řízení pro poskytování služby AFIS/Radio, b) navrhnout přijímací zařízení schopné přijímat necertifikované vysílání polohy letadel, c) ověřit schopnosti využití přehledové informace na neřízených letištích dispečery, d) demonstrovat funkčnost navrženého řešení v reálném provozu a e) vytvořit podklady pro schválení navrženého řešení dozorovým orgánem.
