Anotace:
The authors present the results of their practical research on the navigation of people with disabilities inside buildings using iBeacon technology. This technology's navigation potential lies in indoor use and everywhere, where GPS-like systems fail due to lack of coverage. Even though iBeacon technology is simple (it only broadcasts a signal), its potential is high if paired with suitable software. In such a case, it may not only serve as a navigation system, but also generate information. The authors used multi-criteria analysis to find out what type of iBeacon is the most suitable one for indoor navigation of people with disabilities. Their analysis also resulted into a set of recommendations for distribution and settings of iBeacon with respect of the topology of the building.

Anotace:
In this article,the authors write about passengers' mobility in complex transport terminals.The issue is usually dealt with within the scope of information systems that inform the passengers on the optimal route and the time needed to complete the transfer.The authors developed a methodology to calculate the time needed for the transfer with various transport infrastructure components on the transfer route.The methodology accounts for various groups of passengers (i.g.wheelchair users,passengers with a pram,elderly passengers).Based on this methodology,the authors developed an algorithm to calculate transfer times.The algorithm accounts for combinations of transport infrastructure components for various groups of passengers. Accurate knowledge of the total time needed to complete a transfer can help to optimise making bus/train connections or it can be used in Smart Cities applications.

Anotace:
The authors tested the influence of neural network settings and the input data format on the success rate of biometric identification. Human ear was chosen as the biometric identifier, and its image was captured with a thermographic camera. The authors employed various scenarios to test the following. Firstly, various numbers of hidden layer neurons were tested. Secondly, various subpixel size of the input image, which directly affects the number of input layer neuron, was tested.

The project deals with the implementation of new security elements to an access system designated for sites and premises that have to be protected against unauthorised entry or where access to certain parts of the site should be restricted. The electronic access system can substitute single key systems. The system offers a wide range of applications (registration and signalling of non-standard entries, forced entries, failure to close) and combination with external security systems. The access control system can be deployed separately or as a part of an attendance control system registering arrivals or adherence to prescribed working hours.

Anotace:
The article deals with the biometric identification of drivers, using an ear thermogram. Samples are acquired using an IR camera and then further evaluated by an artificial neural network. Input image data is acquired from a standardized distance at 5 different angles and the effect of the settings of the artificial neural network on the result of successful driver identification is studied.

Anotace:
Today almost everyone carries a mobile device. The authors test whether these devices may be used to ascertain the number of people in a building. The number of mobile devices present (number of persons) is determined using methods that capture network packets sent by mobile devices using the 802.11 protocol. The packets are captured using a Wi-Fi scanner, a hardware device that allows information to be gathered from 802.11/a/b/g/n/ac networks. The number of people in a building with an adequate count of Wi-Fi scanners may be determined with a definite probability which, aside from its statistical importance, might also be key in emergency situations in which it is imperative to determine how many people are inside a particular building.

Anotace:
People counting (detection) in public transport setting provides highly valuable information for transport lines planning in respect of their density, routes, timetables and vehicle occupancy. The real-time information on current number of passengers at given point enables the city councils together with the carriers to make significant improvements in line planning and resource use efficiency. Thus it allows lowering of their costs.

Anotace:
The air traffic at non-towered airports has grown considerably in recent years. This increase in air traffic puts greater demands on both: the pilots and the dispatchers of the flight information service. The AFIS dispatchers, when gathering information on aircraft position, depend on voice communication with the pilots. Such a communication leaves room for error and inaccuracy. There are eighty-six non-towered airports in the Czech Republic at present. None of them operates a radar information based air traffic surveillance system. This paper describes a new system that increases safety in the Aerodrome Traffic Zone (ATZ) of non-towered airports. The authors of this paper are currently developing an A2A (Aircraft to Airport) system which will make possible an exchange of information between the person who provides AFIS and an aircraft through a mobile data network.

Anotace:
This article deals with the transfer of persons with reduced mobility and orientation between different modes of transport. For these people, the transfer time depends on their mobility and their type of disability, and in most cases their need to choose a different transfer route than the majority of the population. This results in very different transfer times compared to the general population, creating greater time, orientation and physical demands on the persons. Given that this group includes elderly people and mothers with strollers, this issue is very topical. Knowledge of the total transfer time for a particular group can be used to optimize connections, or in Smart Cities applications.

Anotace:
The article treats determination of transfer times between different modes of public transportation for persons with reduced mobility and orientation. This group of persons often cannot use the same transfer route as the majority population and its transfer times therefore often significantly differ. Detailed knowledge of loss times of individual groups of persons on specific elements of transportation infrastructure, which constituted a route, allows determination of total transfer time required for a given group of persons. This information is essential for example when optimalising combination of various modes of public transportation or in applications Smart Cities.

Anotace:
Pedestrian crossings constitute an essential part of traffic infrastructure. This article deals with velocity of persons on pedestrian crossings. The pedestrians are divided into several groups in order to capture their different velocities. To define a group of persons with limited movement and orientation abilities we use the applicable legislation of the Czech Republic. We further describe in detail technical parameters of the pedestrian crossings and other factors influencing in a significant way velocity of persons on pedestrian crossings. A throughout understanding of velocity of persons on pedestrian crossings can influence the duration of the green light and as such play a role in designing light signal plans or in Smart Cities applications.

Concurrently, depending on increasing number of vehicles in cities, importance of incentive car-parks on peripheries, parking houses within shopping centres, airports, etc. constantly arises. At the same time, also demands on intelligent control such of these car-parks arise by reason of effective use of every parking spot. The proposed Parking Management Control System (PMCS) provides overview not only from the point of number of free spots but also number of spots intended for parents with children, handicapped persons, or XXL vehicles. In case, the vehicle is identified as one with permanently disabled persons, parents with children, or XXL vehicle then PMCS purposefully navigates this vehicle to a dedicated spot. During the certain time, the system knows actual positions of every vehicle, time spent on a car-parks, and its type.

Anotace:
The objective of the article is to describe the equipment of a state–of–art vehicle with a passive people detection system. The detection is based on IR cameras installed in the vehicle interior. The system can identify the exact number of people in the car, distinguish adult persons from children and identify the driver. Moreover, the system goes with a RFID card reader that requires an active cooperation of passengers but it makes it possible to report to the system some other information such as passengers handicap, serious sickness or blood group. The system may be integrated to Smart Cities applications or eCall system.

Projekt se zabývá implementací nových bezpečnostních prvků do přístupového systému, který je určen pro objekty a prostory, kde je třeba zamezit vstupu neoprávněných osob, případně omezit vstup do určitých částí objektu. Elektronický přístupový systém slouží jako náhrada systémů jednotného klíče. Systém poskytuje široké možnosti využití (evidence a signalizace nestandartních vstupů-násilné vniknutí, nezavření) a napojení na externí bezpečností systémy. Přístupový systém může být nasazen samostatně nebo jako součást docházkového systému, který umožní vstup při evidenci příchodu nebo podle předepsané pracovní doby.

At CTU FTS we are currently developing BioTest, an authentication system for testing students using state-of-the-art information technology and unambiguous Biometric authentication for each user. We use this system for identification during exams and testing. The BioTest software operates on the basis of a student's face recognition comparing the pattern with data on the student's ID card, while informing the relevant teacher about the student's identity.

Electronic information systems are an integral part of transportation arrangements in every city. They are built with the aim to offer to its constituents various services and to facilitate their orientation in a complex transportation network. These systems, however, do not necessarily take into consideration the needs of the handicapped, for example the visually impaired, although precisely this group needs correct and aptly transmitted information more than any other segment of the population. This article highlights the basic concept of the expansion of the current transportation information system in the Czech Republic by employing the Near Field Communication technology for the visually impaired passengers.

Safety in public buildings is obtained by technical means employed in hazardous situations (accident, fire etc.). In case of an emergency, endangered premises can be evacuated by emergency exits, while the monitoring center monitors the situation and activates the pre-prepared contingency plans to enable safe (managed) evacuation. Special attention needs to be paid to the handicapped persons. Their impediments (blindness, restricted movement etc.) pose extra challenge, when in the ensuing chaos or panic they try to find emergency or barrier-free exits. This article describes a proposal for expansion of the existing evacuation systems by elements of localization of the handicapped persons in buildings. The aim is to provide this information to the rescue teams and thus improve the evacuation capacities for the handicapped.

Anotace:
In road tunnels, safety is ensured by technical means (sensors, emergency exits), whose purpose is to help resolve dangerous situations. In case of emergency, people can escape from the dangerous areas through emergency exits, while the Tunnel Control Center (TCC) monitors the situation and triggers previously developed emergency scenarios to carry out controlled evacuation of all persons. This paper describes a proposal of extension of the existing evacuation systems with vehicle localization elements including monitoring the number of persons in given tunnel section with the aim of providing this information to the emergency services and enhancing the possibility of escaping from the tunnel safely.

Every developed society features an elaborated transportation information system to facilitate orientation. Such information system must offer real-time data (information) with high degree of reliability and security, taking into consideration its constituents. Anotace:
The visually impaired persons are a significant group among the users of public transportation. They should therefore be allowed to travel as independently and safely as possible. Particularly independence is crucial for psychological wellbeing of persons with any handicap. This paper provides an overview of regulations currently in force in the Czech Republic dealing with movement of persons with limited movement and orientation capability and of applied solutions for the visually impaired persons. The core of the paper is a proposal for expansion of the current transportation information system at the bus terminal for an independent and safe movement of the visually impaired persons. The paper also proposes performance indicators for the expanded transportation information system.

Anotace:
Departure of vehicles from a light-controlled intersection is one of the characteristics which allows us describe behavior of a traffic flow. In order to manage traffic on light-controlled intersections or in the entire traffic networks, it is imperative to describe this behavior with the most accurate mathematical apparatus. Computation of traffic management is determined by a model, according to which vehicles on an intersection set into motion upon the green signal, although in order to reflect today‘s traffic conditions, I prefer to propose using the red-yellow signal. This model is called the departure model. It is defined by the time necessary for a vehicle standing in a queue to cross a reference point after the onset of the green signal. One of the aims of this article is to describe and verify a new mathematical apparatus for departure of vehicles from an intersection – departure model, which would take into account both the preceding vehicles and other parameters influencing departure of vehicles from an intersection. This model is called the basic model. It focuses on simple situations, when a vehicle departs from an intersection without being detained by other vehicles or pedestrians. Additional aim of in this article is to create and describe the methodology for a departure model, which could be used for any intersection, i.e. a set of models from which the most suitable one would be chosen for a given intersection. This model is called the expanded departure model. In order to arrive at such a complex solution, it is suitable to create a model based on a mathematical apparatus of mixture distribution.

This article provides an overview of acoustic adjustments for visually impaired persons in the Czech Republic. The core of the article is a proposal for expansion of the current transportation information system at the bus terminal for an independent and safe movement of the visually impaired persons. Anotace:
The article discusses project-oriented study at the Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Transportation Sciences. Study with project-oriented component prepares students of bachelor and master study programmes for their careers by exposing them to concrete problem-solving already during the course of their studies. Work on a project, i.e. on a real task commissioned by an external entity, requires students to apply acquired practical knowledge. Inseparable part of the practical problem-solving is team work with other students, academics and scientists. Project study reinforces preparation of students for solving expert problems in their future jobs and thus significantly increases their employment potential. The article further discusses advantages and disadvantages of project-oriented study and statistical data from the last three project recruitments.

Anotace:
Departure models deal with departure of vehicles from the entrance space. They help us determine what time a particular vehicle in a queue needs to cross the STOP line. The models hitherto used are not very accurate. The author tries to fill this gap by creating a significantly more accurate model, which could be used to manage traffic on a light-controlled intersection. On the following pages, the author introduces a new approach to a departure model. It should be universally applicable on any intersection or for any traffic situation, eliminating the need to create a specific model for each individual intersection. The author proposes a set of models, from which the most suitable model would be chosen for a given situation. In order to find such a complex solution, it will be necessary to create a mathematical model, proceeding from a special type of multidimensional regression model. It would be further expanded to a model of mixture distribution and its estimation, where each component of the model would reflect specific characteristics of a location where the intersection lies. This approach could be applied not only in simple cases, when the departing vehicle is not detained by any external factor, such as other vehicles, pedestrians etc., but also in more complicated cases, when the departing vehicle, for example, gives way to pedestrians upon turning. This has a significant impact on departure of all vehicles queuing behind it. Such a departure model should have a higher accuracy of prediction of departure times, compared to the hitherto used models, and would be adaptable to time and location of its application.

Computation of traffic management is dependent upon a model, which determines the headway of vehicles in the intersection upon a green signal "go" - this is called a departure model. Hitherto used models have been based solely on individual observations and quest for an appropriate artificial function, which would respect these observations. However, such models turn out to be inaccurate and their application in transportation management is problematic - they are only applicable for those intersections, on which the data was collected at a given time, without relationship to other variables impacting departure of vehicles (such as geometrical order, departure direction, road angle etc.). The article describes a lay out of a departure model by creating a new complex mathematical apparatus.

Tato práce souhrnně zpracovává problematiku odjezdového modelu, včetně studií mnoha autorů, kteří se odjezdovým modelem resp. odjezdovými intervaly či vstupními časy, zabývali. Použití známých odjezdových modelů se ukázalo v praxi jako nevyhovující, proto byl vytvořen nový matematický aparát pro odjezdový model. Ten je postaven nejen na znalosti odjezdu předchozího vozidla, ale hlavně na parametrech, které ovlivňují odjezdy jednotlivých vozidel a které jsou např. specifické pro danou křižovatku. Takovýto odjezdový model vykazuje vyšší přesnost predikce než dosud používané modely. Dále byla vytvořena a ověřena metodologie odjezdového modelu postavená na matematickém aparátu směsi distribucí. Cílem bylo navrhnout takové komplexní řešení odjezdového modelu, které by bylo možné aplikovat na libovolnou křižovatku a bylo tak adaptabilní vůči času a lokalitě jeho aplikace.

Pro řízení dopravy na světelně řízených křižovatkách je velmi důležité mít co nejpřesnější matematický aparát, který nám umožní popsat, jak se na nich dopravní proud chová. Dosavadní modely byly konstruovány výhradně na jednotlivých pozorováních a hledání vhodné umělé funkce, která by tato pozorování respektovala. Takové modely se v praxi ukazují jako velmi nepřesné a jejich použití pro řízení dopravy je velmi problematické. V tomto článku je porovnán nově vytvořený odjezdový model s již známými odjezdovými modely.

For control the traffic on traffic lights controlled intersections is very important to understand the behavior of the traffic flow. Just today it can be very difficult regulate the transport network, without this knowledge, which are very complicated. Movement of vehicles on traffic lights controlled intersections is determined by many characteristics, which are for regulate or modeling of the traffic flow essential. Departure model is just one of these characteristics. It is about finding the time, they need vehicles to leave the space ahead from stop line after the appearance of the green light. The resulting time is affected many factors that are more or less relevant. Our aim is to create a new mathematical model, that can take into account these factors, found by between dependence and thus was more accurate for the specific intersections.

In the light of today´s high traffic volume, it is crucial to anticipate the traffic flow on traffic lights controlled intersections. Without this knowledge, it would be impossible to control the traffic in complicated hubs, such as, for instance, those in Prague. One of the characteristics, through which we can describe dynamics of vehicle movement on traffic lights controlled intersections, is the interval between departure of a vehicle from the space in front of the stop line and the arrival to the actual stop line. This is called a departure model. Our aim is, first, to create an appropriate mathematical application, which would take into account individual variables influencing departure of individual vehicles and determine the dependence among these variables. Second to create such a departure model, which would, on one hand, correspond as much as possible to the contemporary traffic situations, but on the other hand, be more exact for specific intersections.

Znát chování dopravního proudu na světelně řízených křižovatkách je v dnešní době, vysoké motorizace, velmi důležité. Bez těchto znalostí není možné správně řídit dopravu v takových složitých dopravních sítích jako je třeba Praha. Jednou z charakteristik, kterou můžeme popsat dynamiku pohybu vozidla na světelně řízené křižovatce, je odjezd vozidla z předřazovacího prostoru až ke STOP čáře. Této charakteristice říkáme odjezdový model. Naší snahou je identifikovat jednotlivé parametry, které ho ovlivňují, zjistit mezi nimi závislosti a vytvořit matematický model, který bude co nejvíce odpovídat současné dopravní situaci.

Departure model is one of the characteristics, through which we can describe traffic flow on signalized intersections. Management of such intersections or of entire traffic networks requires a highly accurate mathematical model, through which the traffic behavior can be described. There is a direct relationship between the accuracy of such a mathematical model and the accuracy of subsequent simulations of behavior of a traffic intersection. Based on these, we can subsequently control the traffic. The departure model expresses the time necessary for an individual vehicle (standing in a queue) to leave the pre-shifting area after the green light has been signaled. In this article, a new mathematical model is compared with a hitherto model, which is, based on experience and simulations, not fully relevant today. The new model attempts to consider parameters, which influence the resulting departure times. This should render the model more accurate.

This article contains part of the results of a research which focused on finding the best way to manage a traffic lights controlled crossing. A simulation model, which includes the crossing and the traffic on it, has been created to achieve this. The simulation model has been created in a mathematical program "Matlab", which currently tests static, dynamic and fuzzy control. To assess the expediency of these types of control, tests under different levels of traffic intensity have been carried out.

The aim of this paper is to present a search module for traffic knowledge system (TKS). The commonly used full-text search returns only those documents, which contain the queried term, without the knowledge of its relationship or its meaning vis-à-vis this term. The resulting list of documents returned by the full-text search is ordered by the level of occurrence of the searched term in a particular document. Nevertheless, such a list can also contain irrelevant documents or more relevant documents can appear only behind those less relevant ones. This problem is addressed in the proposed search module by using domain ontology, fuzzy set, and logic to capture the semantics in searched terms.

These days, probably nobody is able to conceive of transportation without information systems ensuring itssafety, facility, working-load optimization, economic savings in transportation, etc. Transport knowledge systems resolutely finding their exercise in transportation and complementing transport information systems represent other information technologies. However, these systems do not provide "only" information - nevertheless substantial for decision making - but outright knowledge. Every knowledge system should be able to answer its users´ queries and, therefore, capability to search only relevant answers among plenty of all possible ones should be its integral part. Introduction of a searching module for the transport knowledge system with which the authors has dealt represents this contribution goal.
