Anotace:
Our research focuses on establishing a suitable and reliable method for measuring the movement of pedestrians and passengers in public transit. The objective is to assess the viability of using passive mobile crowdsensing for matters surrounding public transportation, design tools suitable for processing data collected by sensors in the crowdsensing network, propose an essential algorithm for the data matching procedure, and experimentally verify the viability of Wi-Fi technology for such purposes by testing sensors. These technologies are applicable to various logistical functions as well as the planning of major public events. This paper tries to introduce the subject even to those who are unfamiliar with the concept of crowdsensing.

Anotace:
This conference paper presents a comprehensive exploration of the applicability of passive mobile crowdsensing for measuring pedestrian and passenger movement in public transit systems. The research endeavors to establish a robust method for gathering and processing sensor data, with a focus on data matching algorithms. It also involves practical sensor testing to evaluate the feasibility of Wi-Fi technology for these purposes. The study underscores the relevance of deploying specialized sensors and a dedicated server infrastructure to enhance data collection and analysis within public transport contexts. By developing custom sensors and server capabilities, the authors aim to elevate the accuracy and efficiency of device detection. This approach seeks to provide insights into rush hour dynamics across diverse scenarios, ultimately contributing to more efficient public transportation services and informed decision-making. The paper also serves as an introduction to the concept of crowdsensing, making it accessible to a broader audience.

Anotace:
Our research deals with creating a suitable and sufficiently reliable methodology to use for evaluating the movement of passengers in public transport or pedestrians. The goal is to design crowdsensing-based methods that provide a quick alternative to large-scale evaluations. It is the settings, the number of installed elements, parameters, and possibly other attributes enabling an increase in quality and reliability in real city conditions. The methodology must comply with GDPR. We also deal with the possibility of evaluating the behavior of people in case of restrictions due to disease spreading (nowadays, for example, COVID19). Our goal is to find methods using wireless technology and their generally little-described features for evaluating the movement of people. The usability of these technologies extends to some branches of logistics or organizations of larger cultural or sporting events.

Anotace:
In IoT (Internet of Things), the concept of a Smart City integrates technologies and physical devices in various fields of deployment. One such instance is logistics. With the increasing popularity and need for online shopping, the e-commerce sector is growing – which goes hand in hand with the logistics industry. The logistics industry keeps growing and is gaining more and more importance – and so do the delivery solutions in the last-mile part of the logistics chain. The last-mile delivery offers a lot of possibilities for new and complexly integrated smart solutions. We propose a new solution for smart delivery services on the last mile. We call it a Smart Post Box. This concept combines various elements and creates a multi-purpose smart city solution that can be easily integrated into different systems. It introduces new ways to receive and send packages, integrates as a part of a smart household, sends notifications, and can be used to collect valuable data. During the current coronavirus outbreak, this solution would prove to be useful in reducing interpersonal contact and thus help eliminate the transfer of the disease. Our calculations show great potential for such innovation.

Anotace:
Smart Cities are an evolving concept of a set of technologies contributing to the overall simplification of processes within the city using the Internet of Things. This topic is more relevant now than ever before thanks to the availability of such technologies to the general public and low initial costs. We research the possibility of using Smart Delivery boxes to create more effective last-mile delivery services while reducing costs and protecting the environment at the same time. Our calculations show considerable benefits to both society and the environment. The research was done for the Czech Republic and the Czech postal operator – the Czech Post.

Anotace:
We research the possibility of deploying crowdsensing technologies to public transport planning, optimizing, analyzing, monitoring, and measuring. The technologies must be fully compliant with GDPR and other personal information protection regulations. The methods using crowdsensing may replace standard manual counting measurements, becoming an easy, quick, and cost-friendly alternative to the current methods, making these methods outdated. The other aspects of deploying city-wide crowdsensing infrastructure are the possible uses in cases of disease spreading, e.g. Covid19, monitoring mass movement at large public events, and many more. Our goal is to use common wireless technology and use it in a way that is not being scientifically researched at present.
