Driver health monitoring is an increasingly discussed topic in the automotive industry. This article compares a smartwatch against an electrocardiogram (ECG) probe, both in terms of the ergonomics of the measurement and, of course, the accuracy. The evaluated variable is the heart rate variability (HRV), which can indicate the general health of a person or their stress. In this paper, the state of the art technology of measuring physiological functions of the driver is investigated. In next part the experiment is designed and implemented. Final part consists of evaluation of the experiment and discussion of the results.

Anotace:
The paper deals with the possibilities of implementing dynamic tariff regulation of on-street parking spaces in the capital city of Prague. Achieving optimal results is conditioned by the implementation of advanced technologies, but at the same time the dynamic tariff regulation must follow the applicable legislation and, above all, be accepted by drivers. For this reason, the paper briefly discusses the technical and legislative possibilities of implementation, and most attention is paid to the conducted survey of user needs. The survey investigates the impact of parking prices on drivers' motivation to park their vehicle in the area.

Anotace:
Driving simulators are increasingly being incorporated by driving schools into a training process for a variety of vehicles. The motion platform is a major component integrated into simulators to enhance the sense of presence and fidelity of the driving simulator. However, less effort has been devoted to assessing the motion cues feedback on trainee performance in simulators. To address this gap, we thoroughly study the impact of motion cues on braking at a target point as an elementary behavior that reflects the overall driver's performance. In this paper, we use an eye-tracking device to evaluate driver behavior in addition to evaluating data from a driving simulator and considering participants' feedback. Furthermore, we compare the effect of different motion levels ("No motion", "Mild motion", and "Full motion") in two road scenarios: with and without the pre-braking warning signs with the speed feedback given by the speedometer. The results showed that a full level of motion cues had a positive effect on braking smoothness and gaze fixation on the track. In particular, the presence of full motion cues helped the participants to gradually decelerate from 5 to 0 ms(-1) in the last 240 m before the stop line in both scenarios, without and with warning signs, compared to the hardest braking from 25 to 0 ms(-1) produced under the no motion cues conditions. Moreover, the results showed that a combination of the mild motion conditions and warning signs led to an underestimation of the actual speed and a greater fixation of the gaze on the speedometer. Questionnaire data revealed that 95% of the participants did not suffer from motion sickness symptoms, yet participants' preferences did not indicate that they were aware of the impact of simulator conditions on their driving behavior.

Anotace:
This article is about assessing whether eye-tracking technology is feasible as a tool for evaluating external HMI technology, which is a topic that will gain importance once autonomous vehicles become ubiquitous. For this end, research about external HMI concepts was done. Based on this research, two main set-ups of external HMI were identified. First consists of placing some form of signaling device (LED strips, light panels, etc.) on the front of the vehicle (upper part of the windshield or the grill). The second one is based on projecting the information on the road between vehicle and pedestrian. Experiment was carried out, simulating a pedestrian looking for external HMI clues whether to cross the street at unsignalized crosswalks. For the experiment, Tobii Pro Glasses II were used for detecting scene in front of the participant and their eye movement and fixation. The aim of the experiment was to ascertain whether the eye-tracker is usable in this kind of experiment, and if so, in what conditions. It was found out that for low traffic and certain weather conditions, eye-tracker can be used to distinguish a single vehicle from about 50 meters and finer elements can be distinguished from about 25 meters, which should be sufficient for external HMI evaluation.

Anotace:
The simplest method of regulating on-street parking (in the cities) is a tariff regulation plan, changing the price of parking usually requires the least amount of money spent and is not contingent on the introduction of new technologies. Getting it right leads to a redistribution of demand and an important aspect is the relative price levels for off-street and on-street parking. The paper deals with the design of an algorithm for dynamic on-street parking control. It describes the process and results of a model implementation of the algorithm in a selected area. The proposed algorithm is intended primarily for cities or larger municipalities where parking regulation becomes a necessity and operates on the principle of real-time parking price adjustment. In conclusion, the possibilities of implementing the algorithm in real operation are evaluated and the possibility of further development and future research is outlined.
