Anotace:
The article presents a novel algorithm for merging Bayesian networks generated by different methods, such as expert knowledge and data-driven approaches, while leveraging a symmetry-based approach. The algorithm combines the strengths of each input network to create a more comprehensive and accurate network. Evaluations on traffic accident data from Prague in the Czech Republic and accidents on railway crossings demonstrate superior predictive performance, as measured by prediction error metric. The algorithm identifies and incorporates symmetric nodes into the final network, ensuring consistent representations across different methods. The merged network, incorporating nodes selected from both the expert and algorithm networks, provides a more comprehensive and accurate representation of the relationships among variables in the dataset. Future research could focus on extending the algorithm to deal with cycles and improving the handling of conditional probability tables. Overall, the proposed algorithm demonstrates the effectiveness of combining different sources of knowledge in Bayesian network modeling.

Transport infrastructure currently faces many anthropogenic threats, resulting in an increasing number of security incidents. These are, for example, attacks with explosives or firearms in the premises of railway stations and connected transport infrastructures, e.g. in the premises of airports or bus terminals. For this reason, it is essential that the owners or operators of these transport infrastructure elements have an effective tool for the timely sharing and provision of information about threats and incidents on transport infrastructure elements. For this purpose, this article presents a list of the affected entities of the transport infrastructure and the content page of the information that should be shared and transmitted between these entities. The supporting part of the article is the design of the sharing process and providing information about threats/incidents and the design of a communication system and suitable technical means for sharing and providing information about threats.

With the increasing number of cybersecurity attacks and their increasing complexity, it is necessary to adapt the detection methods to be able to prevent such attacks. The replacement of traditional detection methods based on machine learning with more advanced deep learning and neural network approaches is the crucial step for this. In this paper, we present a comparative analysis of different deep learning models for anomaly detection in syslog. We analysed existing datasets for system logs and compared several preprocessing methods. We evaluated different deep learning models on those preprocessed datasets to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state-of-the-art in cybersecurity. We achieved the best results with the CNN model with 0.999 F1-score on the BGL dataset showing the great potential in such techniques for the real-life models monitoring the system and detecting anomalies.

This paper introduces the issue of personal and non-personal data in autonomous vehicles. Its main objective is to provide a procedure for determining the processed and retained data, to explain the current legal regulation that must be met, and to propose appropriate recommendations for each data category. Current law (and the regulatory framework which it has produced) generally distinguishes between two basic types of data, i.e. non-personal data and personal data. The phenomenon that a combination of several pieces of non-personal data may, under certain circumstances2, result in processing of personal data, which is subject to significant regulation, is not limited solely to the field of autonomous mobility. This paper deals with data classification in autonomous vehicles, focusing on the challenging cases of non-personal data that can turn into personal data. The initial stage involves identifying the data to be processed, followed by the classification of the identified data. Based on this classification, relevant legal obligations and recommendations are described. The primary objective of this article is to provide guidance to data administrators (or, to use the terminology of data protection laws, data controllers) in autonomous mobility, enabling them to identify data and take appropriate measures to ensure compliance with legal regulations. The ultimate aim is to ensure that data controllers adhere to legal requirements, a goal that is critical for all data controllers. Beyond that, this article should be relevant also for other stakeholders in the autonomous mobility ecosystem, such as vehicle manufacturers and their suppliers, software application and service providers, and others.

The protection of soft targets has recently come to the interest of a range of experts, government organizations, and companies. This is happening in relation to current developments in the security situation. Ensuring the protection of soft targets is the primary interest of all the entities involved. For establishing effective protection, it is, however, necessary to correctly recognize which element could be attacked i.e. which can be identified as a soft target. The basis for identifying a soft target is its definition, which is however not precisely defined and is perceived differently by different experts. In view of this fact, there is no specific process for identifying soft targets in railway infrastructure. At the same time, it is visible from history that railway transport becomes a target for terrorist attacks. This article, therefore, focuses on the possibility of identifying soft targets in railway infrastructure. The first part gives some results of analysis of possible approaches and criteria for identifying soft goals, focusing on the area of railway infrastructure. On the basis of the results of the analysis, criteria are subsequently determined and a process for identification of soft targets in railway infrastructure is proposed. This method allows assessors to gain the list of railway stations, which are classified into two categories of soft targets.

owadays, there are limited capabilities to limit the speed of vehicles or to stop them. The current methods used within communication on the roads use informative messages that are not influencing the movement of the vehicles. Currently, to limit the speed of the vehicles only destructive and invasive methods are used. These methods can lead to threats to the health and lives involved in road traffic. In this paper, we designed and verified a unique system for influencing the speed of vehicles. The test-bed consists of two vehicles that contain COHDA-MK6 OBU devices and a mobile application for managing the vehicles. The verification for the developed system was performed on a race circuit in the Czech Republic with the cooperation of the Czech police. During the testing, two vehicles were going almost 100 km/h and the security forces in a police vehicle successfully stopped the other car. The process for stopping the car consists of the mobile application that sends the C-ITS (Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems) message that is transmitted to the target vehicle. In this paper, we successfully verified in practice on a race circuit that the proposed system to limit the speed of vehicles is working.

As part of the development of new technologies and approaches, there are innovative solutions for intermodal transport, especially at the interface between road and rail. Among the basic trends in the development of the transport system, with a focus mainly on progressive areas that complement each other and are also newly developing, such as the requirement to obtain data and information for information modelling. Information modelling can obtain data using various methods that are presented in the article, where in particular the HD mapping method seems to be a very progressive approach, as well as obtaining data from technologies and smart approaches using connectivity using optical cables, IoT or the future 5G network with cyber security. The mapping of objects using 3D, the use of BIM (building information modeling) in design for the precise description of a given object or device for the subsequent provision of a complex cycle of a given system, is also an essential input for information modelling. The article concentrates in a comprehensive manner on the development of the transport system with a focus on the road and railway interface from the point of view of providing data and information for the design, implementation, and subsequent maintenance. An important aspect of the transport system is its user, the passenger, who uses and provides data and is offered for multimodal and intermodal transport, especially the application of the so-called Mobility Hub with the prospective provision of autonomous mobility, which in the future can be an important connecting element in multimodal and intermodal transport at regional or city level.

This paper analyses the component of the Integrated Interlocking System which forms the central logical and functional unit implementing all logical and computational functions necessary for railway traffic control in the Railway 4.0 concept. The main principle is that this approach centralizes the technology of station interlocking system, track line interlocking systems, level crossing interlocking systems and the functions of train interlocking system - the line part of ETCS L2/3 radio block control panel (RBC). The operation control is centralised to the controlling dispatcher centres. The paper discusses the concept of integrated interlocking system including safety issues addressed from the perspective of the requirements of CENELEC standards EN 50126, EN 50128 and EN 50129. These requirements are addressed from the perspective of the authors of the paper, who also work as independent assessors of the safety of railway control and command systems.

Currently, the number of vehicles in road traffic is increasing, which enhances the variety of traffic situations and needs related to road traffic and safety. A cooperative intelligent transport system (C-ITS) can improve road safety and benefit drivers and traffic participants. The C-Roads specification defines many different use cases for informing road vehicles about speed limits, impending danger, road work, signalized intersections, and more. In this article, we propose a new use case targeting the need for Integrated Rescue System services to slow down or stop selected vehicles that are violating rules. Unlike most use cases in C-Roads, in our case, it is not enough to only notify the driver’s vehicle; it must also be slowed down or stopped completely. This intervention requires addressing issues from a technical and a procedural/legal point of view. In this work, we define the use case itself, following the templates of the specification in C-Roads. Then, we discuss the issues in terms of secure communication between vehicles and privacy. We also analyze existing protection security techniques against typical cybersecurity attacks and privacy countermeasures. Next, we propose a system architecture concerning appropriate C-ITS messages and communication between vehicles and present an onboard diagnostics simulator implementing the proposed architecture for the core needs of a given use case. Furthermore, we create a practical demonstrator of our proposal based on real vehicle components. Finally, we discuss open research questions and the ongoing development of the use case before the application on the Internet of Vehicles.

The volume of data streams in different areas of the smart city concept, e.g. robust IT connectivity or efficient urban mobility, has been ballooning in recent times, and yet, the issue of how to protect this data is remaining on the margin of attention. Several possible approaches may be taken to data protection, which arise from different perspectives. The most well-known of these is the much-mentioned General Data Protection Regulation, dealing with the protection of personal data. Data is generally stored in a space called a database, i.e., a tool for collecting and organizing data. As far as databases are concerned, there is a separate approach to their protection which may be directly associated with the design of the database and/or its contents. The purpose of this article is to provide the reader with insight into this issue with respect to specific databases within the field of autonomous mobility. In addition, this article includes a proposal as to what characteristics selected databases should have that affect their possible protection, and the conclusions to be derived from this.

Smart cities and smart mobility necessitate the development of newly adapted approaches and applications that ensure data connection among their particular parts; thus, the complex systems of smart technologies can be applied. Especially in the field of transport, mobility, and smart solutions, many of these applications require precise localization. Global navigation satellite system (GNSS) localization is used mainly because of its availability, reliability, and sufficient precision. However, there are also blind spots in smart cities where the GNSS is not available, e.g., in tunnels. This article presents an approach to fixing the issue of localization in road tunnels based on telecommunications with Bluetooth low energy (BLE) based infrastructure equipment. This approach enables us to ensure sufficient data resources for localization, and thus, smart applications can also be applied in the tunnels. At the same time, this approach also allows the fulfillment of individual needs according to the specifications of each tunnel or smart application. The outputs from testing and measurements are presented and discussed.

Over the past 2 years, there has been a significant increase in the prices of building materials, which has led to a significant increase in the prices of the implementation of all construction works. This fact has a fundamental influence on the price of property, as well as on the price of insurance for property. Of course, this also applies to insurance prices for existing properties. Property owners must take this increase into account when renewing their insurance for the following years. This article is based on the statistics of the Czech Statistical Office and determines the level of necessary insurance increases for adequate real estate insurance to prevent unwanted underinsurance of existing real estate.

Today’s roads resemble a large anthill, in which countless cars are constantly on the move. There is a human behind the steering wheel of every vehicle, but assistance systems become popular in recent years. Until 20 years ago, a car was a completely practical mechanical device without any embedded electronic systems. Recently, we have seen these systems constantly evolving, and being installed in every new vehicle, which is progressively leading to autonomous vehicles. This is fully in line with the concept of smart cities, where one of its areas is defined as intelligent mobility, where autonomous vehicles belong. These vehicles already generate a huge amount of data. This article defines the current legal framework regarding data in autonomous vehicles. These data are then presented and the classification based on the degree of data personality is suggested. The last part of the article is the design of software that will help manufacturers and administrators with data protection issues.

Road construction and maintenance activities cause traffic congestions and delays and present challenges for ensuring the safety of both motorists and road workers. While urban areas are well-equipped with traffic devices, in the case of highways our chances to collect traffic data and control traffic flows may be limited. Then the use of a temporary Highway Traffic Management System seems to be a suitable solution. Although the impacts of its deployment are addressed by many theoretical studies and demonstrated on traffic simulation models, there are not many references dealing with field tests. We provide results of the practical evaluation of the temporary Highway Management System installed and tested on the main highway in the Czech Republic during the road works period. Before-after analysis of collected traffic data was performed to prove the importance and positive impact of the proposed solution. We demonstrate an over 20% increase in the capacity of the roadwork zone and an almost 30 seconds decrease in average delay for one vehicle Highway administrators can use the results to justify investments into the temporary deployment of mobile traffic management systems.

Our research deals with creating a suitable and sufficiently reliable methodology to use for evaluating the movement of passengers in public transport or pedestrians. The goal is to design crowdsensing-based methods that provide a quick alternative to large-scale evaluations. It is the settings, the number of installed elements, parameters, and possibly other attributes enabling an increase in quality and reliability in real city conditions. The methodology must comply with GDPR. We also deal with the possibility of evaluating the behavior of people in case of restrictions due to disease spreading (nowadays, for example, COVID19). Our goal is to find methods using wireless technology and their generally little-described features for evaluating the movement of people. The usability of these technologies extends to some branches of logistics or organizations of larger cultural or sporting events.

Public administration implements decisions of elected bodies, i.e., deals with the governance of public issues, ensures compliance of practice with law. Public administration creates sustainable economic prosperity, ensures social cohesion and human well-being. Public administration has very often been seen as a service to the population; its quality affects not only social confidence in the public sector but also in the whole political system. From the economic point of view, public administration represents a managerial structure ensuring mainly the supply of public goods; the allocation function of the public sector and its ability to efficiently provide public goods and public services are particularly important. The paper describes the context of territorial public administration in the Czech Republic, where all municipalities are obliged to provide basic administrative services and local public services. Public libraries and elementary schools represent traditional public services provided by communities and towns. Using the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method, the paper focuses on assessing the economic efficiency of providing these two traditional public services.

In the last ten years, autonomous vehicles have proved to be one of the major themes for smart mobility and a vision for the future. The possibilities of autonomous vehicle control are gradually being discussed, as we move from driving assistance systems through occasional vehicle control to fully automated driving without driver intervention. Currently developed autonomous systems work on the principle of recording and processing of a large amount of information from sensors and taken from other entities. Such recorded data may be of a technical nature, but may also be categorized as personal data. If personal data is handled improperly, there is a potential threat of misuse, resulting in a breach of the digital privacy of individuals and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) valid in the European Union. Sensitive and systematic handling of personal data is crucial not only for reasons of GDPR regulations but also for conformity of users of autonomous vehicles and thus the trouble-free development of autonomous vehicles and use in the future. The aim of the presented article is to outline the functioning and use of data in autonomous systems and their basic elements. The next part focuses on the processing of data from autonomous vehicles, their categorization and evaluation in terms of potential severity for security misuse. The article contains an analysis and description of individual elements of autonomous systems and the development of elements of autonomous vehicles from the point of view of the application of privacy protection. The primary target is to address the issues of privacy rights from the development by the manufacturer of autonomous systems. With this target in mind, the article also comes with measures and steps that need to be taken to successfully secure the personal data of data subjects involved within these autonomous systems in general.

In IoT (Internet of Things), the concept of a Smart City integrates technologies and physical devices in various fields of deployment. One such instance is logistics. With the increasing popularity and need for online shopping, the e-commerce sector is growing – which goes hand in hand with the logistics industry. The logistics industry keeps growing and is gaining more and more importance – and so do the delivery solutions in the last-mile part of the logistics chain. The last-mile delivery offers a lot of possibilities for new and complexly integrated smart solutions. We propose a new solution for smart delivery services on the last mile. We call it a Smart Post Box. This concept combines various elements and creates a multi-purpose smart city solution that can be easily integrated into different systems. It introduces new ways to receive and send packages, integrates as a part of a smart household, sends notifications, and can be used to collect valuable data. During the current coronavirus outbreak, this solution would prove to be useful in reducing interpersonal contact and thus help eliminate the transfer of the disease. Our calculations show great potential for such innovation.

Railway transport is one of the significant areas for the functioning of human society. The task of transport is well-thought movement of goods and persons from one place to another. The essence of railway transport is the service of transporting people and goods by rail using railway infrastructure, railway vehicle and under the supervision of rail traffic management systems. However, elements of the railway infrastructure are constantly threatened by a wide range of different threats, which may cause a disruption of their functionality or a threat to the safety of transported persons. At present, attention is also significantly focused on the protection of so-called soft targets. This focus is also reflected in the field of railway transport and railway infrastructure. To ensure the protection of the soft targets of railway infrastructure, threats need to be assessed comprehensively so that an effective response to these threats can be ensured. The aim of this article is to present the procedure of assessing the threats of soft targets of railway infrastructure according to the level of their danger resulting from the level of expected impact. Various threats enter into this assessment in order to maintain the complexity of this assessment.

The article deals with the issue of applying the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method, when examining the efficiency of selected public services provided by municipalities. It focuses on typical services provided by most municipalities, such as the operation of local libraries and primary schools. It describes the methodological basis for calculating the efficiency of municipalities divided into smaller, more homogeneous groups. It then shows the practical results of the efficiency calculation – the mean values achieved in the categories examined and the selected groups of municipalities in the context of the whole set. The method of creation and operation of the software application created for the purpose of DEA calculation is then described.

We research the possibility of deploying crowdsensing technologies to public transport planning, optimizing, analyzing, monitoring, and measuring. The technologies must be fully compliant with GDPR and other personal information protection regulations. The methods using crowdsensing may replace standard manual counting measurements, becoming an easy, quick, and cost-friendly alternative to the current methods, making these methods outdated. The other aspects of deploying city-wide crowdsensing infrastructure are the possible uses in cases of disease spreading, e.g. Covid19, monitoring mass movement at large public events, and many more. Our goal is to use common wireless technology and use it in a way that is not being scientifically researched at present.

The purpose of the presentation is to present intelligent transport systems (ITS) as a field integrating telecommunications and information technologies for control systems in the city and on highways, as well as from the point of view of using 5G networks for predictive diagnostics of faults in those systems. The requirements and needs of administrators of transport and technological infrastructure are mainly the optimization of operating costs and maintenance, which form a significant part of the financial costs after the introduction of ITS systems. Intelligent transport systems are often distributed over larger areas, from which you need to obtain not only basic control and information data in high quality, reliability and low latency, but also diagnostic data. An example can be obtaining traffic data from drones, information from light-controlled intersections, parking systems, but comparing data with the digital twin of the given traffic system or applying it to urban Mobility Hubs. This information and data from ITS lead to the processing of a large amount of transmitted data, where 5G fulfills the demanding requirements of customers and administrators of ITS technology. New trends in the extraction of data from real traffic and online diagnostics extended by predictive algorithms are beginning to be significantly applied in Industry 4.0, where faster transmissions in practice using 5G using simulation, system interconnection, visualization in add-on applications and their mutual interconnection and optimization lead to higher efficiency of activities for planning, determining the life cycles of equipment and fulfilling the needs of the circular economy. This knowledge is being successfully gradually adopted precisely in the transport systems. The application of 5G networks for diagnostics in ITS fulfills the essential needs for data transmission, the necessary data security and the necessary real-time processing that transmission technology can offer. The presentation approaches all these topics from the perspective of telematics systems that are used in transport and we encounter them every day not only in road and rail transport, but also in air and water transport.

Nowadays, when new technologies are being developed and people are looking for smart solutions, the field of automation and digitization grows faster and faster. The demand on the telecommunications is increasing in economy, healthcare as well as in the transportation. The transportation systems are facing the challenge of smart infrastructure, autonomous vehicles, and its connectivity. The requirements for these systems lie mainly in safety, interoperability and sustainability, especially in the area of cooperative transport systems (C-ITS). This article focuses on a possible approach to test and evaluate C-ITS, threats that have to be ruled out in future, possibilities to ensure connectivity among the vehicles and infrastructure in C-ITS. For these purposes, Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) and its laboratory Certilab develop special procedures based mainly on the C-ITS SIM tool. This tool ensures validation and verification of C-ITS messages and its interoperability among all equipment. This paper also reviews the already developed applications and proposal of the functionalities that should be implemented for the testing as well as the examples of real usage of the developed tool in testing the communication of C-ITS messages.

The development of foreign trade plays an important role in the Czech economy. The important foreign trade commodity item is Machinery and transport equipment (SITC 7). Railway vehicles is a part of this category, other means of transport (SITC 79). In order to maintain competitiveness and economic growth, it is necessary for the railway industry to intensify the innovation and the introducing of new technologies into production. One of the available options is a wider implementation of life cycle cost analysis, which enables to activate innovative efforts, as well as to improve technical and performance data.

In the area of smart cities, great emphasis is placed on many different fields such as energetics, information systems, and transportation. All of these should lead to a simplification of life thanks to smart technologies. If we talk about the transportation field, the main issues related to this area are safety, traffic efficiency, or the environment. Another condition is the successful acceptance of any new technology by its users. Cooperative systems prove to be a suitable solution for these issues, especially in urban areas. Today, pilot implementations of cooperative systems in European countries are being carried out. However, before they are put into full operation, they need to be tested, evaluated, and assessed. This article focuses on the latter two points, i.e., evaluation and assessment of the cooperative systems. For this purpose, a methodology was created, which describes the procedure chosen in the evaluation and assessment of cooperative systems in the Czech Republic and a demonstration of its use by example. The methodology is focused on three main areas, which in this case are functional evaluation, user acceptance, and impact assessment. For the area of user acceptance, the main source was questionnaires, impact assessment relied on measured data while functional evaluation was based on discussions with the drivers, evaluating the cooperative systems, the measured data, and the expert observations. All collected and measured data were then processed and some of the results of the evaluation of the selected service are presented at the end of this article.

Stěžejní částí je pak návrh řešení přístupu k ochraně osobních údajů napříč celým ekosystémem s využitím principů privacy by design a privacy by default. V neposlední řadě se autoři zabývají dílčími právními oblastmi jako je kybernetická bezpečnost a ochrana soukromí v elektronických komunikacích, které v souvislosti s problematikou autonomního řízení nemohou být opomenuty.

Metro rail systems are increasingly becoming relevant and inevitable in the context of rising demand for sustainable transportation methods. Metros are therefore going to have a consistently expanding user-base and hence user satisfaction will require meticulous planning. Usage forecast is clearly an integral component of metro planning as it enables forward looking and efficient allocation of resources leading to greater commuter satisfaction. An observation from studying the usage of Kochi Metro Rail Ltd. is that there is a consistently occurring temporal pattern in usage for every station. But the patterns differ from station to station. This hinders the search for a global model representing all stations. We propose a way to overcome this by using station memorizing Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) which takes in stations in encoded form as input along with usage sequence of stations. This is observed to significantly improve the performance of the model. The proposed architecture with station parameter is compared with algorithms like SVR (support vector regression) and neural network implementation with the best architecture to testify the claim. The proposed model can predict the future flow with an error rate of 0.00127 MSE (mean squared error), which is better than the other models tested.

The use of rail transportation is still popular around the world. However, due to the high concentration of people, attackers do also target the railways. This concerns places which can be easily accessed by people, making it impossible to secure them completely. Railways constitute a so-called soft target, during the protection of which the key aspect is the safety of people, whereas in the case of key infrastructure elements, the aim is also to preserve their functioning. In the event of unexpected and disruption events, not only on the track or at a railway station, but also in their surrounding areas, it is important that not only the passengers learn of them, but also other carriers and other entities as quickly as possible. However, no uniform procedure for the sharing and providing information in rail transportation exists in the Czech Republic to date. This article presents the importance of procedure as regards various levels of interconnectedness of transport infrastructures.

In the last few years, several automatic brine spraying systems (ABSS) have been installed on highways in the Czech Republic. The investor and operator of these systems is the Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic, which decides on the implementation of new sites with regard to the current situation and the amount of available funds within individual regions. However, there is no methodology that professionally defines the locations with the required priority for a new installation of the automatic brine spraying systems (ABSS). With regard to this fact, it is highly desirable to design a certain sophisticated method for the optimal localization of these newly built systems. When creating this method, it is possible to use historical data concerning accidents, data on climatic conditions for previous periods and data from the database of the Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic and the Police of the Czech Republic.

The authors present the results of their practical research on the navigation of people with disabilities inside buildings using iBeacon technology. This technology's navigation potential lies in indoor use and everywhere, where GPS-like systems fail due to lack of coverage. Even though iBeacon technology is simple (it only broadcasts a signal), its potential is high if paired with suitable software. In such a case, it may not only serve as a navigation system, but also generate information. The authors used multi-criteria analysis to find out what type of iBeacon is the most suitable one for indoor navigation of people with disabilities. Their analysis also resulted into a set of recommendations for distribution and settings of iBeacon with respect of the topology of the building.

Multistream Compression has proven to be competitive in terms of compression ratio. It utilizes a binary tree structure which follows practically the same rules for its construction as the Huffman method. This tree structure is ideal in terms of compression ratio for creation of codewords by Huffman compression. Comparing to the Huffman method the Multistream Compression is based on different idea of how to compress data. This fact raises the question whether the same tree structure provides the best performance. The presented paper investigates possible improvements of the tree structure. A genetic algorithm application was created for this purpose. The design of this application is presented in the paper as well as the obtained results. The whole application is set to the context of the MSC trees.

The paper deals with the comparison of cities, which will allow to identify reserves in the management of public funds and in the provision of services to its residents. The first step in the comparison is to determine the parameters that can be used to compare a set of cities. An appropriate choice of parameters allows performance comparison across a wide range of areas. A very interesting method for comparison seems to be the DEA method, which allows a relative comparison of a set of cities. Relative comparisons are advantageous if the best values of the parameters that can be achieved are not known, but at the same time it is necessary to compare comparable cities. The paper describes the use of DEA method for comparing cities with each other. The DEA description includes an illustrative example showing the differences between VRS, CRS and FDH models. Paper also describes the software application that is developed for the purpose to compare the efficiency of municipalities. The paper describes the architecture of the application, its functions and print screens from the web interface.

This paper introduces a possibility of application of parametric sensitivity appearing in processes of decision making in systems represented by the general production functions of the Tinbergen type, depending on information content, information flow and qualification of human resources. The so-called parametric sensitivity considering the information content I as an ordering parameter, dependent on the information flow, applied on production function. The theory of production function describes the relation between physical outputs of a production process and physical inputs, i.e. factors of production. Finally, the influence of knowledge in information content I, leading to correct decision, is demonstrated through the parametric sensitivity concept. For this invention, J. Tinbergen and R. Frisch achieved in 1969 the "Nobel price of the Swedish National Bank". Besides, the production functions theory surprisingly represents also a tool for finding the reasons of living bodies behavior.

Nowadays, when a traffic flow increases extremely and cities are more and more congested by vehicles, the information about unexpected events (use-cases) occurred during travels has a big added value. Some of the use-cases are currently defined and can be directly sent to a driver via C-ITS messages. This is crucial in the field of smart cities because there is an effort to reduce emissions, to decrease traffic accidents and make traffic safer, fluent and efficient. Before the whole C-ITS system will be deployed, there is a need to evaluate itself. This paper provides general information about a model of the system and its parts as well as methods for testing and technical evaluation primary based on the log-analysis of the C-ITS communication.

A significant risk factor on the protection of drivers and vehicles, particularly with regard to highways - due to the speed limit, is the climatic conditions. The risk increases exponentially when the roads freeze. The greatest danger is on highway bridges due to the absence of land beneath the structure. Therefore it is highly desirable to prevent such accidents by using adequate technologies and thus eliminate risks of road accidents. The aim of this work is to compare the financing of the automatic brine spraying systems already in use on highway bridges in the Czech Republic and determine their effectiveness. Data from 3 installed automatic brine spraying systems are used for the analysis.

This article describes the mathematical economic model of a communication web portal. To create the model, we use Cluster analysis as one of the areas of artificial inteligence. Based on real data obtained from the operation of the communication web portal and the subsequent identification of the individual data clusters, a model is created that mathematically describes the dependence of economic variables (income from sales of services and selling price of services) on other variables (time of sales of services and field of offered services). Using this analysis, the model clusters together all data to parameterized sets of given properties. The main purpose of creating a model is the suitable classification of data. Consequently, it is possible to streamline the sale of the services and maximize the profits of web portals offering this type of serviced.

The substitution of fossil fuels in road transport is one of the dominant themes at this time. For a long time, compressed natural gas has been used mainly in bus transport. The test process is primarily focused on electromobility or hydrogen drive. Another option is the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Advantage of LNG is (compared to CNG) longer driving distance. Therefore, the article focuses on the possibilities of using LNG in freight road transport, the technological issues of propulsion and, especially, the economic cost model compared to conventional fuels.

In the brain functions the rhythms and quasi periodicity of processes in neural networks play the outstanding (significant) role. It is why adaptive resonance theory (ART) including resonant effects has been studied for a long time by many authors. The periodicity in the transfers of signals between the long-term memory (LTM) and short-term memory (STM) creates a possibility of resonance system structure. LTM with information content representing expectations and STM covering sensory information in resonance process offer effective learning. Nonlinear adaptive resonance creates conditions for new knowledge, or inventory observation. In the paper this feature is newly modelled by an information gyrator that best fits these linear and non-linear phenomena.

Today almost everyone carries a mobile device. The authors test whether these devices may be used to ascertain the number of people in a building. The number of mobile devices present (number of persons) is determined using methods that capture network packets sent by mobile devices using the 802.11 protocol. The packets are captured using a Wi-Fi scanner, a hardware device that allows information to be gathered from 802.11/a/b/g/n/ac networks. The number of people in a building with an adequate count of Wi-Fi scanners may be determined with a definite probability which, aside from its statistical importance, might also be key in emergency situations in which it is imperative to determine how many people are inside a particular building.

Communication of a system alliance with surroundings can be modelled as a translation of specific languages. Incoming messages into alliance create an input language LI, outgoing messages from alliance create an output language LA. Elements on the boundaries serve as conversion units between external input languages and internal languages, or they serve as plain acceptors of input sentences, telling only the input sentence is valid/non-valid. Very important case is man - machine communication. In this case, the respective languages have to be regular. The example of two alliance interfaces and/or respective correction processes is discussed in detail. The process of the acceptance of a new (unknown) word within the adaptive acceptor is carried-out in the following part. These analyses are of high value for both the control and design of complex uncertain wholes, as well as for increasing their functionality and reliability.

Presented contribution is dedicated to discussion of two different approaches into increase of programming language safety. They are language subset and extension of original safety mechanisms. As examples we used MISRA C/C++ subset and SPARK language build on the base of ADA language. In the last chapters we discuss novel approaches based on application of programmable hardware which is described in VHDL language, which is also modification of ADA language. Especially SPARK and VHDL languages represents novel approaches to safe system development which are now discussed in relation to new Railway SW projects.

Anotace:
Nowadays we can observe two opposite approaches to modification of programming languages to be more suitable to safe system development. The first is the reduction of chosen programming language expressions to safe subset, like MISRA C/C++ and this approach is also supported by today standards of safe software development like ISO61508 or EN50128. In the last few years, novel and partially opposite development is expanded. It is based on extension of original language by additional explanations containing description of such aspects of software, that are not described enough by original language. Typical example is SPARK language precisiating original ADA one even though it was originally designed as language specialized to safe control system development.

For wireless vehicular communication both Europe and USA adopted IEEE802.11-2012 (WiFi) based communication systems. These systems are road infrastructure independent type of communication enabling both vehicle with vehicle communication as well as vehicles communication with infrastructure. However, as WiFi radio system architects stressed low system complexity, adopted communication system reaches the only sub-optimal performance with relatively low spectral efficiency, limited communication capacity and principally reduced services guaranteed performance as well as the only restricted possibility of farther system performance enhancement. New generation of 3GPP cellular networks with progressively growing services availability can in future offer alternative solution to WiFi based systems with much higher spectral efficiency and communication capacity and with possibility to guarantee communication services performance. Recently were introduced 3GPP proximity services and their extension devoted for vehicular communication. Such communication system augmentation opens possibility of full 3GPP communication systems engagement in the extensively growing vehicular communication. In this paper is discussed future expected development in this systemic area as well as both communication systems potential coopetition.

The air traffic at non-towered airports has grown considerably in recent years. This increase in air traffic puts greater demands on both: the pilots and the dispatchers of the flight information service. The AFIS dispatchers, when gathering information on aircraft position, depend on voice communication with the pilots. Such a communication leaves room for error and inaccuracy. There are eighty-six non-towered airports in the Czech Republic at present. None of them operates a radar information based air traffic surveillance system. This paper describes a new system that increases safety in the Aerodrome Traffic Zone (ATZ) of non-towered airports. The authors of this paper are currently developing an A2A (Aircraft to Airport) system which will make possible an exchange of information between the person who provides AFIS and an aircraft through a mobile data network.

Increasing demands to railway capacity require to build new railway lines and to apply new approaches like information technologies. There are several new trends in rail traffic control. Firstly, the control is shifted from distributed system spread over stations to centralized one in all Europe. The most railway lines in the Czech Republic should be controlled from two offices in Přerov and Prague. The centralization of the operation control gives spread view of the situation but information quantity to evaluate by operators increases. Secondly, next modern trend (especially in Switzerland, Belgium and Germany) is a separation of strategy control (route planning from daily to annual interval) from operative control (conflicts solution caused by deviations from regular time-table due to infrastructure or vehicle faults) and from direct control (safety device operation, shunting). Each level of operation control process specific functions. Operative control IT support should react to deviation from planed daily time table; it monitors actual trains routes and solves potential conflicts with others trains in advance (from minutes to hours). The output is modified conflict-free time table – specific route plan transmitted to direct control level (realized by human operator or automatic system).

The algorithm is transformed to series of Finite State Machines with Datapath using Register-Transfer methodology. Those state machines are then implemented in VHDL to selected FPGA platform. The algorithm utilizes a special tree data structure, called MSC tree. For storage purpose of the MSC tree a Left Tree Representation is introduced. Due to parallelism, the algorithm uses multiple port access to SDRAM memory.

When modeling many traffic problems, it is necessary to find the functional dependence of the output of two input variables. This task can be solved by a neural network, by using some spline interpolation or polynomials, etc. These approaches can produce a model, but its internal description is unreadable and its transfer to another program can be difficult. Therefore, a program to determine this functional dependence using genetic programming has been developed. The result is prepared in such a way that it can be transferred into a source code of another program, or copied to an MS Excel sheet. The program reads data available as triplets, [[x, y], z], and looks for their functional interdependencies by using a selected set of elementary functions and a vector of multiplicative constants. The input data do not have to meet any additional conditions. They can be defined on measured intervals, or even as individual points. For a successful outcome, the only condition is to have a sufficient amount of data. For some functions, the level of noise has to be determined in order to make the model complete. In this case, noise characteristics can be evaluated from the results of the program.

Smart City is a phenomenon of the last years with a lot of researches been conducted in the past. Smart City is an interdisciplinary field and requires a high level of cooperation among experts from different fields in order to achieve the best results in the six key areas: economy, environment, mobility, people, living, and governance, with the contribution of the latest technologies. Following a system development methodology is in general a necessity for a successful implementation of a system or a project. Smart City projects introduce additionally new challenges. There is the need for cooperation across many fields, from the technical or economic through legislation to humanitarian, together with sharing of resources. The traditional system engineering methodologies fail with respect to such challenges. This paper provides an overview of the existing system engineering methodologies and their limitations. Next a new, so called Hybrid-Agile approach is proposed and its advantages with respect to the Smart City projects are discussed. The approach however expects change of our thinking. The customers in a Smart City projects (typically municipality or governmental organizations) must become active and engaged. It is demonstrated, that a city cannot be smart without Smart Government.

Abstract: This contribution is denoted to discussion of influence of Pseudo-Random Number Generators onto of the GPA-ES algorithm behaviours. This algorithm consists of two parts – Genetic Programming Algorithm to structural development and Evolutionary Strategy algorithm to parameters identification of each solution. Study of this algorithm shall allow answering of such questions as if the sensitivity of different evolutionary algorithms to PRNGs varies to different algorithms and shall let us to find significant properties of both PRNGs and RNGs. This paper after introduction to problem continues with discussion of significant GPA-ES algorithm properties, discussion of test case selection and it ends with discussion of obtained results and future research trajectory.

In the following contribution an attention is devoted to the system description of the urban and economic function of settlements considered as the “Smart Cities”. There is a general approach respecting main urban properties and functions as objects of smart control of basic functions from the system theory point of view. There is an introduction to methodology of description of multi-system functions of settlements with number of quasi-independent parts, given by organization of public sectors or by geo-morphological conditions creating different production function of parts. In this description the genetic code of individual parts is respected as well as Systems Identity and the synergy in resulting production function.

The paper presents the secure delivery of firmware updates to Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Additionally, it deals with the design of a safe and se- cure bootloader for an Ultra High Frequency Radiofrequency Identification (UHF RFID) reader. A software implementation of a secure firmware update solution is performed. The results show the implementation of the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) encryption into existing IoT devices, e.g. UHF RFID reader, requires at least 49.7 kB of flash memory and 10 kB of RAM, and therefore there is space to integrate even more security features into existing devices without hardware upgrade.

This article deals with the transfer of persons with reduced mobility and orientation between different modes of transport. For these people, the transfer time depends on their mobility and their type of disability, and in most cases their need to choose a different transfer route than the majority of the population. This results in very different transfer times compared to the general population, creating greater time, orientation and physical demands on the persons. Given that this group includes elderly people and mothers with strollers, this issue is very topical. Knowledge of the total transfer time for a particular group can be used to optimize connections, or in Smart Cities applications.

The problems are mostly stairs which are almost always part of the transfer. It also affects the total transfer time. The knowledge of this loss time on the stairs is the key part of the total transfer time for each group of persons. Every group of persons has different speed of moving. Total transfer time is very useful and needed information which we can use in application Smart Cities.

The article treats determination of transfer times between different modes of public transportation for persons with reduced mobility and orientation. This group of persons often cannot use the same transfer route as the majority population and its transfer times therefore often significantly differ. Detailed knowledge of loss times of individual groups of persons on specific elements of transportation infrastructure, which constituted a route, allows determination of total transfer time required for a given group of persons. This information is essential for example when optimalising combination of various modes of public transportation or in applications Smart Cities.

Cooperative systems play an important role in the field of telematics and automotive industry and they have a huge potential to continuously grow. To ensure proper functioning it is necessary to deal with telecommunication solutions being able to support relevant information dissemination within vehicles networks. There are many different approaches to networking and information distribution in VANET networks. Different approaches can meet partial requirements; however, none of the existing approaches can offer solution being able to meet all key requirements generated by the real traffic. The conclusions of our studies and simulations so far show that an appropriate option must combine Geocast based routing type with centrally operated cluster based support. Such approach also well fits with available telecommunications system architecture applicable for VANET solutions.

Highway management systems are used to improve safety and driving comfort on highways by using control strategies and providing information and warnings to drivers. They use several strategies starting from speed and lane management, through incident detection and warning systems, ramp metering, weather information up to, for example, informing drivers about alternative roads. This paper provides a review of the existing approaches to highway management systems, particularly speed harmonization and ramp metering. It is focused only on modern and advanced approaches, such as soft computing, multi-agent methods and their interconnection. Its objective is to provide guidance in the wide field of highway management and to point out the most relevant recent activities which demonstrate that development in the field of highway management is still important and that the existing research exhibits potential for further enhancement.

Pedestrian crossings constitute an essential part of traffic infrastructure. This article deals with velocity of persons on pedestrian crossings. The pedestrians are divided into several groups in order to capture their different velocities. To define a group of persons with limited movement and orientation abilities we use the applicable legislation of the Czech Republic. We further describe in detail technical parameters of the pedestrian crossings and other factors influencing in a significant way velocity of persons on pedestrian crossings. A throughout understanding of velocity of persons on pedestrian crossings can influence the duration of the green light and as such play a role in designing light signal plans or in Smart Cities applications.

All complex systems presenting chaotic behaviour are non-linear ones and many problems of their analysis and modelling are caused by application of linear or pseudo-linear models which are not able to represent all aspects of signals generated by these systems. Experiments with some natural-based signal data like e.g. EEG ones concluded presence of typical composite periodic functions, like sin(sin(x)). These functions have specific behaviours which will be presented. Especially, they are non-stationar, have continuous spectrum and thus it is hard to apply usual tools like Fourier transform. To analyse these signals, evolutionary GPA-ES system was used.

Since 1965 when the fuzzy logic and fuzzy algebra were introduced by Lotfi Zadeh, the fuzzy theory successfully found its applications in the wide range of subject fields. This is mainly due to its ability to process various data, including vague or uncertain data, and provide results that are suitable for the decision making. This paper aims to provide comprehensive overview of literature on fuzzy control systems used for the management of the road traffic flow at road junctions. Several theoretical approaches from basic fuzzy models from the late 1970s to most recent combinations of real-time data with fuzzy inference system and genetic algorithms are mentioned and discussed throughout the paper. In most cases, fuzzy logic controllers provide considerable improvements in the efficiency of traffic junctions’ management.

Herein presented paper is denoted to study of real requirements of evolutionary algorithm to random number generator properties. In the past years novel studies occurred. These studies pointed that in some situations random number generator might be replaced by deterministic chaos system. The goal of presented paper is to point the significant properties of number generator, to extend the class of systems to use on its place. During preparation of the paper experiments with Evolutionary Strategy algorithm were done and as the test- bed problems of identification of parameters of two deterministic chaos systems were used. Namely, these systems were Lorenz and Rabinovich-Fabricant ones. The conclusion of the paper is, that periodic functions might be used if proper parameters and sampling period of number generating function replacing random number generator are chosen. This result is not so interesting from practical viewpoint, because the application of sin(x) function is slower than standard rand() function of C and C++ language, but it points that evolutionary algorithms do not require randomness as the source of its capabilities.

Concurrently, depending on increasing number of vehicles in cities, importance of incentive car-parks on peripheries, parking houses within shopping centres, airports, etc. constantly arises. At the same time, also demands on intelligent control such of these car-parks arise by reason of effective use of every parking spot. The proposed Parking Management Control System (PMCS) provides overview not only from the point of number of free spots but also number of spots intended for parents with children, handicapped persons, or XXL vehicles. In case, the vehicle is identified as one with permanently disabled persons, parents with children, or XXL vehicle then PMCS purposefully navigates this vehicle to a dedicated spot. During the certain time, the system knows actual positions of every vehicle, time spent on a car-parks, and its type.

Basic information on Smart City modeling approach based on the concept of the System alliance is presented. An advantage of this approach inter alia is that System alliances are naturally able to model the synergic effects on interfaces and to minimize various negative impacts. Two ways of interfaces modeling within the alliance are discussed: (i.) Quantum-like models and (ii.) the utilization of the duality: automaton-language. In the first case the superposition of states or even the entanglement concepts are suitable tools for recording non-orthogonal interface parameters and resulting phase sensitivity of the respective interface. In the second approach processes on interfaces are modeled as mutual translations of specific languages. Due to significant uncertainties the methodology of genetic algorithms and grammatical evolution are tested.

Paper presents telecommunications security issues with dynamically changing networking. Paper also presents performance indicators of authentication as an integral part of the approach to non-public information. Expected level of security depend on relevant ITS services requirements, different solutions require different levels of quality. Data volumes transferred both in private data vehicle on board networks as well as between vehicles and infrastructure or other vehicles significantly and progressively grow. This trend leads to increase of the fatal problems if security of the wide area networks is not relevantly treated. Relevant communications security treatment becomes crucial part of the ITS telecommunications solution because probability of hazards appearances grow if vehicles networks are integrated in the dynamically organized wide area networks. Besides of available “off shelf” security tools solution based on non-public universal identifier with dynamical extension and data selection according to actor role or category is presented including performances indicators for the authentication process.

Electronic information systems are an integral part of transportation arrangements in every city. They are built with the aim to offer to its constituents various services and to facilitate their orientation in a complex transportation network. These systems, however, do not necessarily take into consideration the needs of the handicapped, for example the visually impaired, although precisely this group needs correct and aptly transmitted information more than any other segment of the population. This article highlights the basic concept of the expansion of the current transportation information system in the Czech Republic by employing the Near Field Communication technology for the visually impaired passengers.

This contribution discusses specific behaviors and features of GPGPU platform which is extremely popular and advantageous in such areas as numerical simulation of systems described by difference equations. Unfortunately, this technology brings rather complications than significant speedup in many GPA applications. The paper discusses them from the position of GPA-ES algorithm, which is more suitable than standard GPA algorithm for GPGPU implementation. The requirements on such algorithm using specific interpreter are discussed. In the discussion there are described situations when such interpreter might be useful on standard microprocessor as Intel Core i7 too. The paper illustrates these reasons on real experiments.

Abstrakt: Identifikace modelu a parametrů neznámého systému z naměřených dat představuje úlohu, jejíž komplexita roste s nedostatkem apriorní informace. Pokud není známa struktura identifikovaného modelu, tedy pokud neznáme jen parametry, ale i model samotný, pak je i poměrně omezen soubor aplikovatelných technik. Asi nejnadějnější je aplikace genetického programování, zvláště pak hierarchického evolučního systému optimalizovaného právě pro řešení identifikace složitých systémů. Příspěvek sumarizuje zkušenosti s aplikací GPA-ES systému při identifikaci systémů různé složitosti.

Safety in public buildings is obtained by technical means employed in hazardous situations (accident, fire etc.). In case of an emergency, endangered premises can be evacuated by emergency exits, while the monitoring center monitors the situation and activates the pre-prepared contingency plans to enable safe (managed) evacuation. Special attention needs to be paid to the handicapped persons. Their impediments (blindness, restricted movement etc.) pose extra challenge, when in the ensuing chaos or panic they try to find emergency or barrier-free exits. This article describes a proposal for expansion of the existing evacuation systems by elements of localization of the handicapped persons in buildings. The aim is to provide this information to the rescue teams and thus improve the evacuation capacities for the handicapped.

In road tunnels, safety is ensured by technical means (sensors, emergency exits), whose purpose is to help resolve dangerous situations. In case of emergency, people can escape from the dangerous areas through emergency exits, while the Tunnel Control Center (TCC) monitors the situation and triggers previously developed emergency scenarios to carry out controlled evacuation of all persons. This paper describes a proposal of extension of the existing evacuation systems with vehicle localization elements including monitoring the number of persons in given tunnel section with the aim of providing this information to the emergency services and enhancing the possibility of escaping from the tunnel safely.

This article highlights the basic concept of the expansion of the current transportation information system in the Czech Republic by employing the Near Field Communication technology for the visually impaired passengers. Nowadays are electronic information systems an integral part of transportation arrangements in every city.

Nowadays ICT technology is infiltrated to all areas of human existence and the number of objects, animate or inanimate, actively acting within Internet services is rapidly growing. The reasons of object monitoring are permanently changing and evolving, following the development of public and non-public sectors. For example using of various tags, stuck on goods, are used for goods identification in stores and for security reasons for many years. Further, the assets identification using passive tags turns to active identification enabling automatic inventorying and permanent assets protection at the same time. Active identification provides also the remote monitoring of objects, moreover, when object's data are safely shared on Internet environment, a number of cloud services can be enabled to allow customers remote monitoring of objects. Based on such ICT environment, the architecture called Internet of Things is ready to come to daily life. The objects considered in such systems can be home appliances, medical devices, building assets, computers, mobile devices, cars, production components, manufacturing tools, building materials and, of course, people. Especially the bindings and relations among objects, for example an identified person having an expensive identified device and passing unauthorized zone is evaluated as a risk transaction resulting to a denied access. Beside the object identification the differentiation of static and moving objects brings a new important parameter to improve the IoT concept.

This paper studies two different implementations of the cross-over operator applicable in GPA or GPA-ES algorithms. The paper especially focuses to evaluation of practical experiments with symbolic regression of model on the base of pre-computed data generated by Lorenz attractor system model. These experiments does not conclude any significant difference between these two implementations with small extreme near to ratio 1:1 which points that in the case of large populations it is sometime useful to combine both implementations. Alternative asymmetric implementation will be used with advance in GPGPU implementation.

Solid barriers represent a danger for the driver in case of the traffic lane escape. This threat can be represented by a drainage ditch culvert face. The access bridge is not usually conspicuous enough near the traffic lane so that the driver could ditch and crash this barrier in case of an exceptional situation such as avoidance manoeuvres. This work deals with a technical solution of access bridges with an integrated deformation zone which was designed on the ground of a detailed analysis of current types of the construction. The new technical solution was proved by means of a numerical simulation of a passenger car impact and compared with a current design of culvert faces.

Neural networks are used in various applications such as signal modelling, prediction or pattern recognition, however, they are still rarely used for the purposes which stood beside the original motivation of the concept of their development; the inspiration for the design of the artificial neural networks was an attempts to imitate the functions of the biological neuron. The growth of computational power in connection with the increasing knowledge of the biological neural cell makes viable the original idea of using the neural networks for fast decision making and recognition of situations in similar way to the humans. Several research centres throughout the whole world are now carrying out the task of accurate brain simulation. Despite the complexity of this assignment and the unprobability of meeting it during the next years, the work on such simulations can improve the knowledge of brain functions which can lead to many practical applications that can improve the transport safety and effectivity by helping the human operator. The improvement proposed in this article can increase the quality of modelling and simulation.

Fuzzy logic has been a popular tool to address advanced control tasks lately. This is true even in transportation, where it has been used for tasks such as ramp metering, control of traffic lights as well as, for example, within highway management. In this paper, we demonstrate that PTV VISSIM can be used for the evaluation of advanced control algorithms, even without usage of API. In this way, even without knowledge of classical programming languages such as C ++ or Java, any fuzzy control algorithm can be implemented directly in the microsimulation tool and its effect on traffic directly evaluated.

The visually impaired persons are a significant group among the users of public transportation. They should therefore be allowed to travel as independently and safely as possible. Particularly independence is crucial for psychological wellbeing of persons with any handicap. This paper provides an overview of regulations currently in force in the Czech Republic dealing with movement of persons with limited movement and orientation capability and of applied solutions for the visually impaired persons. The core of the paper is a proposal for expansion of the current transportation information system at the bus terminal for an independent and safe movement of the visually impaired persons. The paper also proposes performance indicators for the expanded transportation information system.

A new fuzzy algorithm for speed harmonisation is developed and its implementation is explained in details. The main advantage of this solution is in the direct implementation of the control algorithm in the microsimulation tool without the need to deal with an API and external software. Additionally, the configuration and optimisation of the control algorithm is performed quickly in the tool and directly responds to the microsimulation results. This has an impact on the time to implement such a solution as well as the overall cost, since a single resource able to work with the microsimulation tool can do the work and no programming experience are required.

Multicast and broadcast service (MBS) is a point-to-multipoint service where data packets are transmitted simultaneously from a single source to multiple destinations. In MBS, some base stations (BSs) may form an MBS zone and transmit identical MBS contents simultaneously using the same modulation and coding scheme. Hence, the network has to coordinate the transmission of BSs such that BSs belonging to multiple MBS zones may utilize non-conflict resources to transmit different MBS contents. This paper extends the work in [1] for accommodating MBS zones with different service presence probabilities and various bandwidth requirements. A continuous allocation algorithm and a non-continuous allocation algorithm are presented to allocate resource units for overlapping MBS zones. Simulations were conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

The possibility of using microstructural finite element models of whole bones to in- versely calculate their mechanical properties is described in this paper. In this study, L2 vertebra of a Wistar rat were used to numerically determine its stiffness and the results are compared with the experimentally obtained value. The results demonstrate the possibility of using these large-scale finite element simulations to predict the over- all bone stiffness. The micro-structural models used in this study are voxel-based, i.e. each finite element represents one spatial pixel (called a voxel). The micro-structural models are developed from a series of micro-CT images. The resolution of the input image data which is needed to capture the complex microstructure of trabecular bone in sufficient detail is discussed. Tissue material properties are based on our previous nanoindentation study. This paper is focused on the parallel solution strategy employed to solve the large-scale fi- nite element models utilizing existing open-source programs. Because of the high res- olution of the microtomographic images (≈5µm3) the resulting finite element model of the vertebra is composed of approximately 9 million of hexahedral elements. To solve this large problem a parallel strategy must be employed. The main aim was to demonstrate the scalability of selected solvers (the preconditioned conjugate gradient and multifrontal massively parallel sparse direct solver) for these large voxel finite element models. Two architectures are tested: i) distributed memory system, and ii) shared memory system. The results show, that the estimated overall stiffness of the vertebral body is not greatly influenced by the resolution of micro-CT images (albeit it must well capture the micro-structural characteristics of the trabecular bone) provided that the tissue material properties (elastic modulus and Poisson’s ratio at the level of individual tra- beculae) are known.

Departure of vehicles from a light-controlled intersection is one of the characteristics which allows us describe behavior of a traffic flow. In order to manage traffic on light-controlled intersections or in the entire traffic networks, it is imperative to describe this behavior with the most accurate mathematical apparatus. Computation of traffic management is determined by a model, according to which vehicles on an intersection set into motion upon the green signal, although in order to reflect today‘s traffic conditions, I prefer to propose using the red-yellow signal. This model is called the departure model. It is defined by the time necessary for a vehicle standing in a queue to cross a reference point after the onset of the green signal. One of the aims of this article is to describe and verify a new mathematical apparatus for departure of vehicles from an intersection – departure model, which would take into account both the preceding vehicles and other parameters influencing departure of vehicles from an intersection. This model is called the basic model. It focuses on simple situations, when a vehicle departs from an intersection without being detained by other vehicles or pedestrians. Additional aim of in this article is to create and describe the methodology for a departure model, which could be used for any intersection, i.e. a set of models from which the most suitable one would be chosen for a given intersection. This model is called the expanded departure model. In order to arrive at such a complex solution, it is suitable to create a model based on a mathematical apparatus of mixture distribution.

Artificial neural networks have the ability to model signals and predict values that are complex and for which an explicit representation is not known. Therefore, it is a convenient method for modeling of electroencephalograph due to the easiness of acquiring large data sets and a great difficulty to interpret the signals. The growth of computational power in connection with the intensification of the knowledge of biological neural networks open new possibilities for signal modelling.

Currently, when development of applications and technologies is definitely aimed at global use, such trend must be supported by unequivocal identification of users. The basic principles support safety elements (integrity, indisputableness, resistance to known and supposed forms of attacks) and do not link application to a physical carrier (plastic). The application can be hosted on a bank payment card or NFC (near field communication), etc. To reduce safety threats the concept of unequivocal identification using ID cards and conditions, which they technologically produce, are used. Individual technologies used can be defined in ISO/IEC 14443 contactless chip and infrastructure based in HSM (Hardware Security Module) and individual SAM (Secure Application Module) can be defined by key management of the chip content.

This paper describes numerical analysis, using the programme ANSYS, for the generation of the computation model and the assessment of the influence of the geosynthetic grid and the vertical lime-cement columns on the bearing capacity and the deformation of a railway embankment on a low load-bearing subsoil. The stiffening grid is located on the interface between the embankment and the subsoil. The subsoil is also reinforced by the vertical lime-cement columns. There reinforcing effect on the behaviour of the soil construction is analysed with different types of reinforcement layers. The results of the computational modelling show that the reinforcement of the railway embankment has a favourable effect on the bearing capacity of the subgrade. The graphic outputs give a clear overview of the field layout of the equivalent stresses and the deformation during the construction of the railway substructure. A comparative analysis shows that the reinforcement of the embankment, especially the columns is important mainly for poor soils in the railway embankment, i.e. for soils with poorer material characteristics and low bearing capacity.

The software modelling and simulation is classified among basic tools of accident analysis. Aside from active and passive safety systems, vehicle technical condition, road condition, current conditions within critical place proximity, differences of human abilities, also the limited knowledge of the real course of the whole traffic accident undoubtedly contributes to the complexity of processing of such simulation tasks (there is the lack of objective information). This work deals with the road friction properties as the objective boundary condition in simulations of vehicle motion. The aim of the work is to propose a method and determine ways of road surfaces modelling in the simulation environments. The method is based on current technological progress and expected development of modern technologies. The proposed method is experimentally verified.

Guaranteed quality of telecommunication service and wide area coverage are typical requirements of the ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) applications. Extensive range of wireless data services with reasonable coverage is offered by public wireless data services providers, however, mostly no guaranteed relevant range of quality and security has been available. As ITS services require cost-effectively solution, as well, requirements can be resolved by seamless switched combination of public and private services selected in accordance to agreed criteria realized by implemented decision processes. Specific situation is identified in case of the C2I (Car to Infrastructure) and C2C (Car to Car) communication namely if the vehicle on board unit is interconnected with the vehicle CAN (Controlled Area Network) based network. Such dynamically developing telecommunications solution touching public networks significantly increase potential of dangerous intruders´ attacks. That is also the main reason why relevant telecommunications security support is understood as one of the crucial part of the ITS telecommunications solution. System security is discusses in detail in this paper and security performance indicators are defined in context of already adopted telematics and telecommunications performance indicators.

Guaranteed selected quality of telecommunication service and wide area coverage are typical requirements of the ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) applications. Extensive range of wireless data services with reasonable coverage is provided by public wireless services operators, however, mostly no guaranteed relevant range of quality and security is available. ITS services require cost-effectively solution which can be resolved by combination of the “core” public solution with the other public as well as private services where and when it is needed. Such approach requires implementation of the relevant flexible system architecture supported by the efficient decision processes. This paper is devoted to a discussion of the phenomenon of extremely small populations in both parts of GPA-ES algorithm, it means in both Genetic Programming Algorithm and Evolutionary Strategy. Small populations decrease time consumption of some algorithm components like population sorting but on the opposite side they bring risks of needed population number increase and also the increase of the results variance. The paper discusses results of the first experiments with symbolic regression of Lorenz Attractor Equations. For this purpose, the alternative measure of the algorithm efficiency based on the number of fitness function evaluations is applied on the place of the number of evolution cycles, which was used in the previous works about the GPA-ES algorithm.

A modern way of solving logistics problems is using some evolutionary techniques such as genetic algorithm. The best known logistic problems are TSP (Traveler Salesman Problem) and VRP (Vehicle Routing Problem). There are many experiments and approaches when genetic algorithms are applied to solve these problems. Genetic algorithms use two basic operators: crossover and mutation. Number of variations of crossover operators are known in genetic algorithm and a special ERX (Edge Recombination Crossover) was developed for this problem [1][2][4]. Classical TSP and VRP try to find an optimal solution by minimization of the length of travelling distances. In this paper, the fitness function contains time constrain as a criterion except of travelling distance. The fitness function is multidimensional and the lexicographical order is defined. Experiments showed that it is very useful to change the priorities of parts of fitness, especially when time constrain is not performable. This paper is based on the BS thesis [3] submitted to the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, Faculty of Transportation Sciences, Czech Technical University in Prague.

The paper deals with symbolic regression of deterministic chaos systems using GPA-ES system. Within the paper, the source of varying efficiency is identified in presence of structures which are hard to be discoved during evolutionary process due to low propability of their occurence in initial population and by low probanility to form them in single step operation.

The paper deals with symbolic regression of deterministic chaos systems using a GPA-ES system. A Lorenz attractor, Rossler attractor, Rabinovich-Fabrikant equations and a van der Pol oscillator are used as examples of deterministic chaos systems to demonstrate significant differences in the efficiency of the symbolic regression of systems described by equations of similar complexity. Within the paper, the source of this behavior is identified in presence of structures which are hard to be discovered during the evolutionary process due to the low probability of their occurrence in the initial population and by the low chance to produce them by standard evolutionary operators given by small probability to form them in a single step and low fitness function magnitudes of inter-steps when GPA tries to form them in more steps. This low magnitude of fitness function for particular solutions tends to eliminate them, thus increasing the number of needed evolutionary steps. As the solution of identified problems, modification of terminals and related crossover and mutation operators are suggested.

System-oriented approach to the ITS design, operation and evaluation with respect to all predefined performance indicators like reliability, safety, security, integrity, etc. is introduced. The ITS objective is to achieve principal transport, travel and forwarding processes services improvement within the existing transport infrastructure. ITS services cover requirements from an individual local case up to the complex wide area solutions with wide scale of services complexity and telematics services are an integral part of the ITS. They do not represent the only telecommunications solutions, but they are tightly connected with a wide variety of transportation services. Intelligent services with the ability to support the relevant environment of the complex system structures are provided. Consequently, this discipline is closely linked with managerial and legal topics due to their ability to principally influence the system behavior. Critical system properties are represented by discussed security aspects and the newest approach to system reliability based on the concept of the scaled prediction diagnostics is discussed, as well.

The paper deals with analysis of Gennetic Algorithm behavior. GA with population of bit strings is considered. The paper focuses its attention to cross-over operator evolving bits on equal position (with no random shift). The first part of the paper discusses behaviors and features of two genes; the second part uses population of three genes to demonstrate origin of cyclic structures in the GA population. There exists stable state or loop, to which genome moves with increased repeating of crossover operation. In the case of genetic algorithms, especially bit oriented cross over operator, quality of state spacce search depends on features of initial population. This initial state should be formed to enable whole state space reach ability and it is possible to form it analytically on the place of random (and some times wrong) generating.

Identification of persons in contact with the information systems of organizations is a very important aspect of the security of the entire system. One of the options used for this purpose is a smart card. Therefore added security in form of combination of more complex architecture and chip card with biometric is desired in today's world. In the implementation of the smart card technology it is necessary to emphasize the level of security, which affect how contactless or contact chip card applications in memory chip.

Personnel identification is everyday struggle between each individual and security personnel. This is equally important on academic grounds where unauthorized individuals could access university resources and university research. We can assume that every academic individual poses university identification card that can be used for access to restricted areas, computers, library or cafeterias but this identity card can be lost, stolen or borrowed to someone else. Therefore added security in form of combination of more complex chip card architecture and biometric is desired in today's world.

Intelligent Transport Services expect availability of the secure seamless communications solutions typically covering widely spread areas. Different ITS solutions require different portfolio of telecommunications service quality. These parameters have to correspond with ITS service performance parameters required by specific service. Even though quite extensive range of public wireless data services with reasonable coverage are provided, most of them are provided with no guaranteed quality and security. ITS requirements can be in most parameters easier reached if multi-path communications systems are applied core solution is combined with both public as well as private ones where and when it is needed. Such solution requires implementation of relevant flexible system architecture supported by the efficient decision processes. This paper is concentrated the telecommunications security issues relevant to the ITS wide area networking. Expected level of security varies in dependence on relevant ITS service requirements. Data volumes transferred both in private data vehicle on board networks as well as between vehicles and infrastructure (C2I) or other vehicles (C2C) progressively grow. Such trend upsurges the fatal problems appearance probability in case security of the wide area networks is not relevantly treated. That is reason why relevant communications security treatment becomes crucial part of the ITS solution. Besides of available “off shelf” security tools we present solution based on non-public universal identifier with dynamical extension (time and position dependency as an autonomous variables) and data selection according to actor role or category. Presented results were obtained within projects e-Ident1, DOTEK2 and SRATVU3.

Our FSM construction using genetic algorithm was presented in previous years. The algorithm was tested on several tasks. Some of them were very difficult for GA - tasks where FSMs recognize given subsequences in the serial bit sequences. Transition graphs of these FSMs contain trees as their sub-graphs. The last improvement of the algorithm uses a language representation of the FSM and the grammatical evolution. The FSM is described by switch command like in the C language. The syntax of the language is defined by context-free grammar. The FSM is coded by linear codon. A new criterion computing the count of loops was added to the fitness function. The improvement was verified on difficult problems by experiments.
