The Project ‘WeGenerate’ as signified by its name, seeks to infuse the elements of people and co-creation in the urban regeneration processes. It fully embraces the paradigm shift from building for the people to building with the people. We – cities, citizens, communities, businesses, researchers, and practitioners – take ownership of the urban regeneration processes and co-create together sustainable, people- centric, accessible, and beautiful neighbourhoods. This project is based on the stories of four neighbourhoods and their communities located in different parts of Europe. Although they are at different stages of development and are facing different urban challenges, but they share the same vision of positive change. WeGenerate will help them to reinvent themselves and in the process find new values and opportunities. WeGenerate sets out a journey to find the right ingredients and recipes for sustainable and inclusive urban regeneration that can create long-lasting positive impacts within the neighbourhoods and beyond. The process will be highly participatory with close collaboration with the city administrations as well as the citizens, local communities, and businesses. Advanced digital applications (such as Digital Twins, Metaverse and extended reality) will be implemented and experimented to support decision-making and stimulate citizen engagement. Expertise in Social Science and Humanities is called upon to foster social innovation and participatory actions across the project. In addition to technological and social interventions, the art and cultural dimensions will be drawn on in the co-creation processes. Four sustainable and people-centric neighbourhoods will be realised by the end of the project, the legacy will be upheld through replication by five Fellow Cities and others, who are inspired by the WeGeneration stories.

The mobility ecosystem is rapidly evolving, whereby we see the rise of new stakeholders and services. Examples of these are the presene of connected and automated vehicles, a large group of organisations that rally to establish various forms of share mobility, with the pinnacle being all of these incorporated into a large Maas ecosystem. As these new forms of mobility offerings start to appear within cities, so do the new ways in which data are being generated, collected, and stored. Analysing this (Big) data with suitable (artificial intelligence) techniques becomes more paramount, as it leads to insights in the performance of certain mobility solutions, and is able to highlight (mobility) needs of citizens in a broader context, in addition to a rise in new risks and various socio-economic impacts.

Anotace:
Freight transport and logistics are in a period of transformation where the increased availability of digital technologies is rapidly transforming market structures and logistics business models, and the legislative and policy frameworks are moving towards the minimization of the environmental impact of transport. The rapid structural, organisational, and behavioural changes of the sector make existing data, models, and tools lag behind current developments. In response, the STORM project aims to study transformation and structural changes in freight and logistics business structures from different perspectives, focusing on the future challenges and needs of the sector by developing new methods and tools to support digitalization, sustainability transition, and future policy needs. STORM will create a unique platform for dialog with all relevant stakeholder groups to identify key elements for future horizons and directions for freight and logistics research, business and polices. The project will develop new generation, beyond current state-of-the-art transport data analytics, models and solutions through industry use cases and contribute to sector innovations and competitiveness. STORM output will be a toolbox bringing together tools and methods centring on Big Data, data fusion, and agent-based modelling applied to electrified freight transport concepts and new collaborative, digitised logistics systems. It responds to the emerging needs of transport researchers, planners, and policy makers and it will generate knowledge for the implementation of innovative transport policies. STORM will provide advanced methods and tools to enable new opportunities and business models for the sector through targeted information and knowledge sharing with structured support and collaboration in research, policy analysis, and transport planning, to fulfil the ultimate goal of facilitating the sustainable transformation for the business and future public policies.

Anotace:
This initiative aims at developing and improving research cooperation between the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Stavanger (FST UoS) and the Faculty of Transportation Sciences of the Czech Technical University (FTS CTU) in Prague. The main focus of the bilateral cooperation will be the exchange and broadening of the knowledge about planning in the context of smart, sustainable and resilient cities. A particular emphasis will be given to climate change mitigation and adaptation policies, strategies (including risk management ones), technologies and measures in the context of transport infrastructure and operations at the local and regional level in both countries. In a highly dynamic urban environment faced by increasing effects of climate change the role of universities in the formation of citizens of the future with a holistic approach to urban problems become even more challenging. Therefore it becomes essential for European universities to gradually prepare their academic staff and students towards a challenge-based approach to learning and towards a mission-oriented approach to research and innovation. Both universities have demonstrated through previous communication that they give a high relevance to address this innovative approach in education and research. A mobility of experts from FTS CTU is planned to be undertaken to UoS and a mobility of experts from FST UoS is planned to be undertaken to CTU with a workshop to be held in Prague.

Anotace:
This project is aimed at creating educational content and organizing training activities that jointly contribute to the development of competences among postgraduate students in the field of sustainable and smart cities. We expect that the skills and knowledge to be provided to students through the planned blended learning mobility scheme (physical academic mobility combined with virtual mobility) will help in their transformation into active citizens who will be well prepared to deal with the challenges of next decades in the urban environment in the environmental, social and economic context. The management of the consortium will also encourage a synergy among the assigned lecturers so that they get the inspiration from each other to address in their respective subjects some increasingly important issues such as climate change mitigation and adaptation, energy efficiency, pollution reduction, waste minimization, among others. Other important aspects of a strategic approach towards sustainable and smart cities will be fostered through the educational content to be developed and provided to postgraduate students. These aspects include public safety, healthcare, investment, jobs, innovation, among others. The consortium will pursue the collaboration of enterprises from the private and public sector to ensure that the content to be created and provided to students will correspond to the relevant learning needs of the labour market and the wider society. The consortium will also encourage a trans-disciplinary approach with innovative teaching methods for the physical academic mobility to create student engagement and active learning as well as to develop critical thinking skills. Examples of innovastive teaching methods to be adopted are: cross over teaching, teaching through smart boards, teaching through flipped classrooms, teaching through collaboration (learn, study and work in groups) and research-based learning. The assigned lecturers will have the freedom of

The scope of MAVEN focusses on signalized intersections and signalized corridors. In the coming years, highly automated driving applications will become commercially available for motorway driving, and on these roads vehicle platooning will soon become reality. Additionally, next to the necessary vehicle technology also management regimes for activation and deactivation of automated driving applications, and especially the handling of platoons near interchanges and weaving sections already received considerable attention. Development of automated driving applications in urban environments is much less advanced in terms of Technology Readiness Levels. The MAVEN project targets to develop management regimes for automated driving applications at signalized intersections and signalized corridors. MAVEN will build upon the state-of-the-art of: automated driving on motorways, ADAS, C-ITS applications such as Green Light Optimal Speed Advisory (GLOSA) and adaptive traffic light control algorithms.

Ekonomická optimalizace nákladů je výsledkem zavedení společných vzájemně kompatibilních standardů ochrany před krádežemi v průběhu přepravy a v průběhu logistických operací. Hospodářské regiony (EU, USA, Asie) vytvořily vlastní nástroje v podobě souboru povinných i dobrovolných bezpečnostních programů a iniciativ.
